it depends on road how smooth it is. I have done top wack of 137 and by god it was scary the bike was on its full threshold and handel trying to shake but i have holded it tightly. And when cross wind are going on even speed of 90 scares me some time. I feel the bike is not stable at high speeds the handel starts to shake above 125. for high spees runs p220 and r15 is best their faring helps them a lot and keep stable .Wese The best time to rip it is early mornings . Less wind ,cold air, empty roads, less pedestrians.Originally posted by pranav_salieri View Postguys esp. chicane, garry,drifty- how is the high speed handling of this bike????is it as god as r15 because i have taken r15 at 130 and found its handling at that speed to be good! can you take your hands off at speeds like 125-130???
i am planning to check the top whack thats why... i reckon that the top speed handling can be bettered with better tyres....
@drifty-i test rode r15 v2 my friends looks good in flesh....but lacks the grunt it can NO way beat apache in that grunty feel.......and pick up.................................................

ya bro its was hte first time i did eslier i was having passion plus so u can imagine my speed hunger hehehehe but dats it now day i run it 70-80 at max that isOriginally posted by Garry_Menace View PostCongrats buddy! Welcome to Tribe Apache
Its okay that you touched the top speed of 124kmph but I hope you're following the proper running-in of the bike and this top speed run was the only or one of the 2-3 speed burst for the running-in period.
Anyways, nice to see someone from Ynr.. Its my hometown.

The journey...
Its been such a long time since i posted here. After 9 months and 13000 kms on the White Beast, all I can say is WOW...What a bike! It still has the same roar, grunt, and "flies" everytime I twist the throttle...I've been on Numerous short, mid and long rides and craving for more even today! A very reliable bike, been through 4 days & 1260 kms of continuous rains, bad roads, winding roads, amazing ghats..and yet not a single niggle on the bike!
A few good pics of my journey on the beast..

Bro, Motul 3000 4T premium 20w40 can be used till 2.5k. Just check the level and the color of the oil often. You can try the 15W50 grade next time though. Many recommend the W50 grade for our hot Indian riding conditions.Originally posted by Krish1417 View PostGuys, any inputs on the above?Should i use semi-synthetic/synthetic engine oil if any, which brand would be the best
Also, stick to mineral oil for around 7000kms. Then you can try a Semi-synthetic oil.The Apache is ever willing to red line each cog, but the Rider ain't. Enjoy RTR, Safely. Period.

Afr ?
it should have been the case if 10W30 oil was used but since u have used 20W40 it shud be something elseOriginally posted by Krish1417 View PostGuys, any inputs on the above?Should i use semi-synthetic/synthetic engine oil if any, which brand would be the best
. I guess your AFR is running little LEANER as mine, that means less fuel, more air. if u r getting better mileage than before, get ur carb tuned a little bit(Few turns anticlockwise of the Fuel Screw). Heating issue with such a short ride shudn't be there with 20W40

he said don't just extend the kick lever and start kicking like crazy. He instead asked me to gently press the kick lever as far as it goes without actually kicking it. A point will come when the lever will become stiff. It is at this point that you should always start and end your kicking motion. I tried it. And within 2 kicks the bike came to life.
Try this if you aren't doing it already.

Guys, I had tried all the tips mentioned above, but still facing problem with kick starting in mornings.Originally posted by Drifty View PostIts a good practice to press & release the clutch a few times before starting the engine OR crank the engine with the ignition OFF.If your bike is well tuned then it should start at the first or second(full) kick with the above methods.
Some days it takes up to 10-12 kicks for engine to start
I even sought help from some of my friends but no one could find correct method of starting.
So I guess there is something wrong and will have to report it when I give for service next week.
Any additional thoughts on this

Thanks everyone! The only thing spoiling my near-perfect ride is the Infamous "thud" / cone set issue! The SVC says the Cone-set is fine and so replaced the shock-absorbers pumps. It rectified, much to my relief, only to reoccur after a month!
Anyone here got the issue permanently sorted out?
