It does. They are supposed to do it.Originally posted by vivekgautams View PostHow to clean the stock air filters..??A regular service does not include the cleaning of the filters & they have gone real dirty.
Check out haxor's DIY below.
http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/do-yours...-cleaning.htmlThe Apache is ever willing to red line each cog, but the Rider ain't. Enjoy RTR, Safely. Period.

I also got my clutch adjusted by a fellow xbhpian yesterday, no more hard shifts or false neutral now

I confess that I ♥ :

My affair with the Apache turns 1
It has been a fantastic journey so far, done 9600 kms on odo with some minor niggles
Guys, while accelerating hard or after the bike crosses 70km/hr, the front part makes some noise, and like i had mentioned before the left side of the engine has oil like deposit, though very less. What might be the issue, please help me

All my first 5 services was done in TVS service station in B'lore. After each service a small issue popped up,so the next day I would visit them & get it solved. The experience I had during 5th service was horrible.!!I had a "kat kat" sound form the engine ( a tappet adjustment was required) TVS took the bike for service & kept the beast for 4 days, when i went to pick her up,i saw white smoke from the exhaust.Originally posted by kantu View PostDont blame TVS for what SVC does. May i know where you are getting your bike serviced ?
The bike was not responding to the throttle, did not go beyond 90 kmph, gave a mileage of some 28kmpl.So back to service as usual..
This time i had a "White smoke" problem & tappet issue.
The bike was in service for over10 days, the "white smoke" was solved, the tappet sound still present & a bill of Rs1700..
I spoke (very harshly) to the manager of the TVS service, regarding the same.
He (Service Engineer) replies,"Sir, we just wash the bike, change engine oil, tighten the nuts-bolts & polish the vehicle for each service.."
Till date i have the tappet issue..they don't even check brake fluid levels also..
So what can you conclude about TVS service..??

The oil on the left side is because of a leaking gasket. Don't worry though, it is common on all Apaches.Originally posted by Krish1417 View PostMy affair with the Apache turns 1

Hey guys I have a question. I've used the Shell AX-7 oil in my Apache for 1300 kms now. I have not noticed any leaks or such but still the oil level has become low. Is it evaporating?

You didnt tell which SVCOriginally posted by vivekgautams View PostSo what can you conclude about TVS service..??
For regular maintenance I go to Ashwa TVS, I know one mech there (Karthik) now hes manager so any issue i talk to him and he makes sure that mech will do it. Now when ever i go for any issue he does all extra stuff for free like lubing chain, electricals stand etc ..
If you know some one like that its good or else its not late get to know some one
For any major issue i used to go to Zen TVS in basavangudi now that manager shifted to Zen Shakti(btw this is also good). and my friend gets his bike serviced at Bridgestone(rajkumar road) and i have heard positive feedbacks form him.
Heard many complaining the same when running on semi or full syn oils but I have been running on Shell from past 15k kms and didnt notice any thing like that, just top it up.Originally posted by PsychoRider View PostHey guys I have a question. Each time I blast the service engineer or my dad takes the bike for service, the servicing has been done quite correctly.
3 services out 5 services were ok. But the other 2 was hopeless. For a complete service & repair work bike needs to left there for 10-12 day, then the work quality it really good.
Where exactly is that Bridgestone service station ,any land marks..?

And what about the sound coming from the front part (not engine) while accelerating or above 70km/hr?It is also felt near the tank/scoops.

If Jayanagar is closer to u, then hv a look at Bharath TVS also. I know a couple of mechanics there too. I hv been here from past 4 years on all of my RTR variants. They are quite good as well. I usually have it checked by Rafeeq or Muthu here.Originally posted by vivekgautams View PostI give it to the Meghdooth TVS service in Ulsoor or Cox town.Sorry about not mentioning.

Maybe because of loose bolts near the fairing or the tank scoops. I'm not sure though I never faced this issue(my apache doesn't have tank scoops).Originally posted by Krish1417 View PostThanks for the reply
