Thanks. I still have one free service left. It's on August 24th. I also thought of getting it adjusted during service but I'll be going back to Mysore in 2 days or so along with bike. The head mechanic there is so obnoxious that he argues that there's no noise in spite of the noise being heard clearly.

After hearing what you said, I'm thinking of changing my mind. I'll visit some other SVC in Mys or try to bring it here for servicing and get it adjusted then.

P.S Guys, is it okay to get the chain lubricated with some generic oil for a 3 day period?

    • Bike jerking around 4k rpm ? what might be the reason ?

Told this to SVC guy he told me that there is some settings need to be done but that will dropp my average from 50 to 30-35 ..

Second there might be water addition in petrol due to rain ...

      Ny1 ?

Welcome to the club Shahbaz..before i got my beast, i had only heard of jerks at that rpm, within a month of owning it i experienced the jerks live,i still experience it sometimes..
you would be very lucky if its only water inside the tank, removing the water will/should solve the problem for ever...if its not the water then it is definetly the TPS which would require setting or else a tuning problem ,

i doubt wether there will be a drastic fall in the mileage unless the mech makes the A/F mixture rich to cover up the jerks. good luck !

        • Fellow RTRians, don't just SET your TPS correctly. Please clean it with some anti-rust spray once in a while. No oils/grease. TPS is usually the culprit in a hell number of problems, als the SVC guys realise, better learn it

          • guyyssss had ma first crash now. .

by luck or so...only minor damage i guess...left indicator glass is broken (a little)

Front wheel shifted to right (a bit) on the axle itself...now even though the wheel moves..the ABS ring doesnt move and the wheel is touching the arches.

and to make things worse tomorrow is sunday and no SVC

anyone know of a specialist in RTR ABS in trivandrum who could help me tom???

or the only option i have left is to show it to the SVC on monday

As per my knowledge if the bend is not severe & can be mended, then it wont cost you more dan 300/-350/- rs, maybe even less, not sure wether they are covered under warranty but if you go to acquire a new set it will make you poorer than 1k+ for each fork.

When i had the cbz classic the front forks costed 1200/- each, that was 3 years ago so u can get a rough idea about the cost at present.

I positively assume you are safe & it was not your mistake, take it to the SVC tomorrow( here in mumbai the SVC is closed on mondays) & be right under their nose until they get your work done. tc and have a speedy recovery psychologically.

I completely agree, the TPS is the biggest rival of the Menace...cleaning it periodically will solve all major & minor headaches.

                    • @vishnu: Hmm if forks are bent, then take no risk and buy a new fork [if you can, then claim the warranty some how]. And if what you said regarding the front wheel is true, check your T-bar also asap. While riding, if you notice any difference, do get it checked tommorow.
Btw, I'm going to LOGTECH TVS tomorrow morning. Cheers, Ride Safe. Don't worry dude, accidents are bound to occur some day or the other

                            • Hey guys, How you all doing. RTR completed 3 gruelling years, have covered over 45000 kms in the course and so far it has been an awesome companion. Still goes like a stink, though the bike needs clutch revamp, brake pads replacement and coneset overhaul. She has got a new stablemate in form of Ninja 250R. Ninja is nowhere as fun as the RTR while ripping inside the city.

Went for a 260kms 'wet' trip with a pillion and she performed splendidly in the due course. Here are some snaps taken during the trip..
