  • Got a paid service done today.Cost along with tax:
    oil filter:35rs
    True4 900 ml:270rs Why is it 900 ml?As far as I know it should be 1000ml,right?
    Seat cover:335 rs
    Labour Charges:280rs
wash:100 rs(I said I did not want a wash, they did it anyway, managed to get water into somewhere, bike was chocking and going off when rpm dropped bellow 3k.After revving it hard many times now seems ok)
The previous guy drilled holes on air box.Noticed that today only. That explains the loud growl of my RTR.Going to cover the holes with cello tape for time being, replacing the entire thing next week.Hope too much dust did not enter.
Also they said clutch lever is gone, needs replacement.
The projector set up is running on which bulb,I have no idea, but really poor lighting.Planning to change to stock 35w bulbs.Any other option available. The stock yellow lights with blue angel eyes will look bad?
Also choke cable is stuck, not that I need to use it anyway.

    • It is 1000ml for our ride. You need to top it up. Air box comes as a set along with air filter. Would cost approx 750 INR. Clutch lever gone? Did not understand... or is it the cable? (130 INR) It is recommended to use choke during cold starts. Choke cable cost 85 INR.
The Apache is ever willing to red line each cog, but the Rider ain't. Enjoy RTR, Safely. Period.

Would like to know more about the choices for bulbs and projector set up etc. I hope someone will point me towards the right choices.

Also if it is a paid service or whatever why would the SVC people would change anything without us knowing about it?

Regarding bulbs refer to my signature

Coming to change anything in paid service, generally they call the customer to let them know what they are changing, atleast my last svc used to do it

I had never used choke since last 3.5 years and 43000kms, it was stuck and was the cause of jerking. Hence my mech removed it. He told, "You arent going to use it for the next 3 years as well" .
My bike still starts with 1 crank/kick.

Daytona : Still no news of launch and expected price 8lacs OTR... I wish I could get the best inline3 that took WSBK by storm leaving behind the famous R6
GT650R : Would love to own one due to its 'new' looks, but would wait for some more good reviews.
Green : Naaah, not my style at all
Have ridden my friend's CBR600RR (07 Model) extensively, something that powerful is what attracts me. (Yes , I might get a second hand supersports)

Choke is used in bikes to regulate the air-fuel mixture during startup specially when its cold. It starts with a rich mixture gradually making it to an optimum mixture. If you dont use it, its good, but make sure that it works when required

                        • ^^ When engine is cold:

. Pull choke lever towards you and start the engine (i do this). Let the engine to idle in choke applied condition with no/very less opening of throttle (not able to do this part as the engine shuts off, so i just keep the engine to idle for a minute without choke).

. Once engine is warm, release choke lever to its original position.

                            • What was the previous owner trying to do with those many holes?? May be sound. Change it asap as more dirt will enter in the box
Whats wrong with the clutch lever, is it bent??

Yes,sound was the reason I think. You think those tapes will do any good?
Can't pull the clutch straight, have to pull it downwards a little.Fine to ride, but can't find neutral easily.
