Was the rear tyre/alloy removed for any reason?? If,it was, there might be an alignment error & hence, the chain is touching somewhere..

So after a fair bit of thought, I decided to buy the drum version and made all payments today. Will get her on Monday.

I am just waiting for Monday and now cant even imagine to wait for the disc version however better it may be. Hope that drum version will suffice my riding style. I am upgrading from a Scooty, so shouldnt make much difference.

What a coincidence, i too upgraded from a scooty pep. One of my friend has the drum version and the difference between drum/disc isnt much but rather on the rider's skill, so congratz on the new bike. However plz follow the running-in guide on this thread so that your bike may run on optimal performance. Rest, ride safe & ride happy.tc

Are you sure about this? Ever thought of taking stopping distance and time taken into consideration.
I guess if there "isn't much difference", all the bikes should come with drum brakes.

I myself ride the rd version & ridden the drum version of my friend as well. I am not saying disc brakes are inferior or even at same level as drum brakes but rather towards the rear wheel options since 160 comes wid default disc at front. Also another point was that since he upgraded from a scooty, i dont expect him to drive rashly but rather go on learning curve as i did. Besides i perfectly understand disc brake are a necessity on high speed vehicles but even those cant save a guy if he drives madly/rashly. Of course, you being a senior member have better judgement therefore my statement may be entirety wrong

Since the point here is drum or disc for REAR and not FRONT, it is true that the disc at rear does not add much value.

First thing they teach about in track days is to learn to brake using only front. In fact using both brakes doesnt reduce stopping distance than using only front brake to the maximum. With the disc at rear and that too with TVS tyres, it just locks up quickly

I got what you meant, its just it was pitched in different way in your previous post. All well

@Adarsh_Bk : Yes I do agree, one should prefer 70-30 braking. My post was just to make clear that in panic situations, a bike disc brake would stop easily (conditions apply : like tyre grip)

I realized that when i recently had a nasty accident. Not to mention, i noticed the light from lower dipper of headlight of new apache is less therefore also have to be careful at night though i am thinking of upgrading the bulb to nightracer pro bulb

Ride safe bro. But I see that you now have Teknik to protect you

And even I have heard that the new model reflectors arent as capable as old ones, wonder why they degraded it. You can try 35W Nightracer Plus, I am having it now and the light throw is much farther than stock bulb, had to even adjust the beam so that it wouldnt go too far off! But it is a bit expensive at 500+ bucks.

Yup, now i wear my teknic gear whenever i bike. Unfortunately, that night i was going nearby and thought i won't need them but it happened on a road i least expected it ( the pmc was putting some new pipes and dug huge holes near/on road plus shut off the streetlights as well). Its been over 2-3 months yet that the streetlights are still not on & traveling on that road almost gave me creeps. I think among good night riding lamps, these four are best

That's bad man, and nothing you could do about it. I dont understand how can they dig up holes and leave it just like that without any warning boards. Same happens in Blore as well!

And regarding the bulbs you have listed, Only 35W can be used on our bikes, using 60/55W will create problems as the coil doesnt generate enough juice. So NightRacer Plus is the only option. I think the exact price was 550 or 590.

No sirs here man You can just apply little bit of oil using your fingers on both the filters. Just a small amount of oil is enough, adding too much will block the air flow.

Just spent 40k on new cam and another 60k would be spent on lens , plus mom forcing me to get 4 wheels , I guess she is thinking of getting me married soon
