Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
Wet grip sucks. Your back wheel tends to lock up easily on a wet surface (even if it has just started drizzling, the back tyres lock up when you apply the back brakes alone). I usually tend to use both the brakes when going on wet surfaces and I try to keep a 2-3 second gap to the car or bike in front of me. Enough time to actually brake in the rain.Originally posted by sambit View PostI have ridden the new TVS tires, but only on dry surface, so cannot comment about wet grip. But dry grip was good. Some new RTR owner can help here. I would say go for the MRF tire(Dazzler based), which was considerably better.
I dont think you need to change the foot peg. Just get it tightened. Even if you do change, wont cost you much.
The tyres aren't that great for track either (city riding is really good). I would recommend people to use an aftermarket tyre like MRF.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
Couple of quick questions: What are good aftermarket exhausts for the RTR 160? Can we get Akrapovic or Yoshi?
Any good place where we can get complete riding gear (jacket, jeans, gloves, ear plugs, knee caps, elbow guards and ECE 22.05 certified helmet) around Bangalore or Mysore?
Thanks in advance! Ride safe guys! 👍

Apache already sounds great. There are no custom exhausts specifically built for it.Originally posted by AMotoVlogs View PostCouple of quick questions: What are good aftermarket exhausts for the RTR 160? Can we get Akrapovic or Yoshi?

There are lots of retailers for your needs in Bangalore. Visit the dedicated helmet and riding gear thread.

You can adjust your headlight beam by adjusting screw beneath headlight, if cant find it just go to local mechanic & he will show you how to do.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
Help please, My Apache RTR 150 white 2014 model is giving me a very poor mileage of 29-31kmpl. Checked the plug and its black. The Carburetor is BS-26, same as RTR 160CC. It is set at 1.8 full turns but still very rich AFR. What is the default setting of the Apache RTR 160cc Carb, i mean the number of turns. Thanks

Re: TVS Apache RTR 180
as per company recommendation its 3+-2Originally posted by shojolbd View PostStill waiting for help ! Default carburetor setting of RTR 160 please.

so the mixture control screw(MCS) setting is 3 full (or 6 half turns) turns from completely closed position and then adjust to a max of 5 full screw or min if 1
to set the idle of 1400+- 100,
anywhere from 2.5 to 3.5 full turns, usually is good state of tune, and this can be confirmed from spark plug colour after a few kms ride.
hope it helps
