  • another strange problem that i noticed today

if i rev the bike to 6-7k at any gear and then depress the clutch(pull-in the clutch lever) then the engine rpm drops to 2k and stays there for quiet a long time after which it reduces to 1200 rpm which is the idle rpm.

another thing my neutral light is continuosly glowing now. not in its full brightness but faintly

    bike has done 610 km.

mine also same problem but mine happened due to cylinder gasket wornout due to overheat since i ripped upto 10k 2-3 times for short 2-3seconds....next day oil leak was observed over head and as u mentioned the problem was started happening......lets see what happens after replacing the gasket....i will get my bike tommorow...i will let u know.."dont worry it just due to overheating" thats what the service person told me.

The bike is running lean (most probable) and/or has too tight valve clearance.

the bike feels like it is missing a spark or ignition of fuel during running in morning(cold condition) kind of like while running at 50-60 kmph you suddenly turn off the ignition and then switch it back on again immediately

is the above a problem of lean fuel mixture...

A lean bike will have uneven idle too. Also check your spark plugs. You will know if it is lean or not.

Same here It stays 2K for a while before getting down to 1.4K rpm when engine is hot.

I guess first service will resolve this issue

funny thing is it started after first servicing not immediately after around 200 kms

I am seriously annoyed by the Noise coming from Cone Set or Fork.Cochin TVS Service's Answer is ,If they Tighten the Cone Set ,Bike Will swerve towards Right. They asked Me to Press the Handle down of a new RTR180 to confirm that this Noise is there with Every 160/180 RTR's.And Indeed There was this Thud Sound Coming from New RTR180 as well :S I can't Understand their Logic. For that Reason Every TVS Service's.

I thought of leaving the Bike Today for Service. But ,they said it will take 2 days to return the bike due to many bikes came for service.

Can Somebody Tell Me ,Whether I can ask them to set Valve Clearances and Tappet Adjustment before 2nd Service?First Free Service is Over.

this noice from the shock is doin rounds in 160 and 180 threads now with major chunk of owners reporting the matter......
if you heard the noice from the new rtr too then i think its another new found character of 180.....

the rtr comes with a loose settings of tappets and no SC plays with it in the first serv...
make sure to stand on their heads the next time you get it done that too in front of your eyes..
go to the SC specifically for this and make sure they do it when your engine has cooled off...
never ever get them adjusted on hot engine......

Tappet Adjustment ,I am thinking of doing it in Local TVS ASC ,But ,I think of resolving the Cone Set in Main Dealer for Ernakulam - Cochin TVS .

Yeah ,@Renny I read it in another thread. If this problem is a general occuring Why Not Shoot a Mail(email) to TVS regarding this? The First Reply I got in this thread is from chicane1879 ,Who said After the warranty period(1 year) ,He paid to replace it.Wow!

It's because of the collaboration that UCAL and Mikuni has and their carb's are generally called as Ucal Mikuni!
