There was a nice thread regarding launching a bike at high rpm's by oldfox, just search for it, joel to has added posts to it too.

Oh yeah!! My clutch plate is fully fried now, slips very badly due to my redlight drags and also Friendly drags I participate now and then!! and in my drags till now Thankfully, i've lost only 4times out of 50 to 55 drags i participated in and my success mantra is launch...

Though it took time to master it, clutch is the key to extract best out of a machine!!!

you need to slip it at the start of launch, there's no other go.. All my friends do pop their eyes out when i say i launch at 8k, they say its impossible, blah blah blah but truth is i do launch at 8k, its very much possible but takes its own time to get used to it, if possible will post a video from the next drag session!!!

In drags you must not be caring for the clutch dude, all matters is you win or lose, I do know that dragging is an utter sin to clutch plates and all other internal parts but best timing is what its all about. So you need to fry your engine and get ahead!!

yes you can go for the synthetic
or semi synthetic oils .RTR 180 grade is 20w40 . you get oils in almost all grades . i would recommend to go for a 10w40 oil . it will make your morning starts in winter easier also . The cheapest full synth i guess is the petronas 5100 10w40 . very good oil , else motul 5100 SS also is 10w40 and is good .

btw,I have a query.How much does a good hid kit cost?...or any suggestions on better bulbs for the headlamps?...Also,I had this thought.P220's tires will be a direct fit on the RTR,rite?...

You bet, we did.

But that modded RTR Fi is what blew me away.Mindblowing performance for its size

Do not try to fit the P220's 120-section as it will rob off the performance of the bike heavily.The current 110-section is just right for the bike unless softer compound appears from other companies.

Rpm

@chicane

The RPM of my 180 waz around 800..
I got te 180 after second service..
And now the RPM's been raised to 1200..
i feel my bike a lot different now..
is this the way it should be..??
And will an increase in the RPM cause the mileage to decrease..??
Plz help

the RPM of 180 is 1300+-100...
and the idling RPM never affects the mileage to the extent of puttin lines on your forhead.

My 180 gives 37kms/ltr only after 1st service..
The TVS guy told tat mileage above 42 is assured..

Did the RTR FI have engine works done to it? What engine mods? I thought it was just the body work

buddy.... go for a HID only if you have to constantly ride on the highway at night... else its too much of a bother... too much glare to other users(others will just flip to bright on seeing you - you know, the few good guys who dim for you suddenly vanish from the roads), cop magnet... and its always good with a DC system...

My HID kit cost me 2k - but am seriously thinking of reverting back to stock...

Actually I faced similar problem due to idling, the engine gets heated up very soon and becomes rough . After that,they reduced the idling to around 1200 then it was fine. Only after that incident I came to know about the importance of idling.Ask Service guys to check the RPM.

mine did, and got it fixed... but it looks weird that something is coming out of it...

that puncturewalla didn't cut that brown thing and said Isko aise hi rehne do, koi problm nahi hoga

K buddy thanks.I do a bit a highway riding and Im just fine with the stock but still feel HIDs will do some good...anyway Im chucking this whole idea of tires and HID kit for now...
