the stripes are reflective but not much, you can get the pin stripes done by any good sticker shop in your locality in both radium and non radium one according to your liking.

              • 7000kms Ownership Report!!

                7000kms Ownership Report

It's been exactly 6 months of ownership and the "Menace" has clocked close to 7000kms(6948kms!!).It's been a bag of mixed experience so far with the machine and she's getting wilder as she keeps on munching up miles!!

                5k Service:

Switched to Motul 15W50 5100T Semi-Synthetic during the 5k service and the usual servicing was done which was free of cost, of course. The Left side indicator was behaving erraticaly and it was found that a loose connection was the culprit which was duly taken care of.

                Performance:
The bike has really grown up with time and the performance has become more consitent. The Hiccups at lower rpms have disappeared after the tuning but at some times there is knocking felt at higher rpms which disappears when i use Xtra Premium.Still makes me think that the tuning is not upto the mark. The mileage has a wide variation from 35-45km/ltr.Last time i checked it returned 42km/ltr which even included some wild ripping.

                The Motul Effect:

After i switched to the Motul at 5k service i didn't notice any immediate difference in performance but there was a sea change in bike's performance after a couple of hundred kms.The bike started revving more freely and it hits 10k rpm mark in 3rd gear in no time.Earlier it used to fill stressed out after 9k rpm. I am happy that oil has gel-ed up well with the bike. But i am a bit skeptical of it hampering the engine's performance in the long run as it's not of recommended grade.Vibrations haven't increased much and the bike is smooth by "RTR" standards but the tingle from the handlebars still persists but not much of a concern as i more concentrated in ripping rather than noticing those silly areas. But yes, if one intends to do touring then it might be a concern but then we have gloves to the rescue.

                Problems:
Only one problem so far which peeps it's ugly head once in a while. When the bike was used in a drag race session, the tacho gave up as it got stuck at 12k rpm and the display died out.Later after trying many times with the ignition-lock the system got reseted much like an OS and it started spewing out random 'alien' figures on display akin to the Predator's(Movie) figures found on his arm-display!!

From past couple of days, the speedo is working well and is not behaving erratically. But i think i will have to change the console even if it pisses me off!!

great pics dude and a really well written view. Even im not happy with my tuning. My bike jerks a lot at and around 3k rpm. But im not willing to make my AFR ratio rich because that will decrease the mileage further. Currently im getting 42 kmpl average.

is it a common problem...coz the testrides i took..i couldnt fell the throttle response as i imagined..and yes there were minor jerks...but after getting into 4th and 5th gear...the response was awsome after i opened the throttle....the beast just started to pull like a wild horse ! ! !
