    Exactly.Now i can say that it's not psychological as others have also felt the same. In fact, it is more noticeable in my Victor rather than the RTR.

    You need to find it yourself.Has to be fairing. Check the whole setup.

        that is a pressure regulating valve , better marketed as 'ABS' by saferide abs and various chinese cos . that mechanical device claims to function as a ABS device .

          when I was riding on a long stretch, suddenly the bike gasped for fuel.. This time there was plenty of fuel though. it was as if the bike was delivering power in bursts

          Any problem that you can think of? Will soon give my bike to first service. Didn't ride it above 5k rpm, but have gone past 65 a few times.. hope it hasn't spoiled the bike!

                  The article seems to be a report straight from a press-release from IOC. And there's no mention of the 91-octane rating which is the main USP of xtrapremium. I can't remember now but i recall xtra having no additives. And if as you say it's the only one with additives, then what does speed and power offer? and c'mon man, if you've noticed better perf why use it only once a week?

                      Well it's the extra 'premium' is what they charge puts me off from using it regularly. As there is no tangible benefit apart from smoothness.

                      "Additive contents in Xtrapremium and Speed"
                      The additive package contains proprietary components, including a detergent dispersant, a friction modifier and a corrosion inhibitor, as a perfectly optimised formulation in synthetic carrier oil. The detergent dispersant cleans the fuel system and the friction modifier drastically reduces friction in the non-lubricated engine area, thereby contributing to fuel economy.

                      "Speed" is a blend of petrol and world-class multi-functional additives, sourced from Chevron Oronite Company LLC, a ChevronTexaco company, which complies with EPA 97 (Environment Protection Agency, USA) requirements. "Speed" contains unique deposit control additives that effectively remove harmful deposits from all fuel metering systems and components resulting in enhanced overall engine performance - easy starting / smooth idling, maximum power and acceleration, reduced emission, and no engine knocking - improved mileage and reduced maintenance costs.


                      Still from my personal experiences from last 6 years, IOC imparts smoothness and more linear performance whereas Speed gives better mileage.Also if you switch from XP to Speed you will notice significant drop in bike's refinement quality.

                      Did you experience it only once?
                      If Yes, then...Next time you face similar situation, stop the bike and open the fuel lid for some seconds and then close it and start riding again. This happens when there is air-trap inside the fuel tank which hampers the fuel flow to the carburettor.

                        Hmm, it costs what, 2 bucks more than regular? I think it's worth it for the benefits over regular. and it's still cheaper compared to speed and power no ?

                          So far....
                          Day - 15
                          Odometer reading - 1004kms
                          Mileage - 50kms and still going
                          Gear shifts at 4000rpm.

                          The run-in is complete. The bike now looks seasoned. The right hand is itching very badly! However, I am not going to open up the bike to its top speed as of now. A gradual (Periodical) increase in the speed might be better! Well, that is what I think at least! And I am going to stick to it!

                                Same here..I am a fan of 'speed' (both) since my days with Activa..If anyone here could not feel the difference between the speed and normal fuel..Try experimenting it with the Activa.There's a significant difference in smoothness..From butter-smooth to 'malai'!..

                                P.S: What's Activa's comp.ratio??
