    You need a 17mm socket wrench for removing the engine oil drain bolt.Any other open-end or ring spanner can slip and damage the bolt as it was in your case.The engine oil change is best left for the roadside mechs as the charge is very minimal.
    @Utkarsh:Thanks for the DIY.

            • I am fed up of speedometer issuesToday the speedo and the odo reading stopped working,went to a nearby mechanic and he said that the speedo cable need to be replaced and after that while i was doing 25km/hr the speedo showed many figures according to its liking and top speed registered as of now is 146km/hrI called the TVS mechanic,he said that he will talk to the senior engineer and would let me know tomorrow and probably the speedo assembly needs replacement.What should be done?Changing the cable or the speedo assembly?Please help guys

              • Superb pics, nisnth!!

                Loved this one...

                Forgot to update you guys. RTR has crossed 32k kms and still the chain-sprocket set hasnt been changed.

                Hats off to the component quality which TVS maintains.The bike is running strong with every bit of kms, goes like a stink even after battered day and night by both of us(myself and my brother). Hits 125km/hr without breaking a sweat. Anything further would require crouching. But still the bike has treated us well in those 30 months of ownership. Brilliant acceleration, impeccable braking and intoxicating growl which still makes this bike one of a kind. Infact the performance what one can get from this machine is one notch above the competition and that is what i like about the RTRs. Sadly, i was expecting similar from KTM 200 but was disappointed(from the initial reports).

                Speedo console has been replaced twice and there is certain alignment issue with the cone set which has made the handling slightly nervous while cornering. Other than those grouse, we have nothing to complain from this sheer brilliance from TVS.

                If only TVS would have made something bigger, would have fulfilled my demands but sadly they are sleeping and when they are awake they would be the latecomers in the party!! (RTR 2XX is still many months away but it will have very high specific output like the KTM)

                    @pranav: as already said in this thread, the RTR logo on clip-ons are very much available in SVCs at 50-60Rs.

                      • Hey guys, some time back, i reported that there is some sound coming from the bike when riding @ 4th gear, i went to my mechanic and asked him to check it, he didnt open the engine but said its coming from the engine only and may be because of a missing washer or some minor part like that...
                        About a month back the ASC people had opened my engine and gear box to replace a faulty party(the parts name is gear shaft or something like that)...
                        The sound started coming after that, i guess they didnt fit some part properly during that...
                        Now my question is do TVS people sell small parts like washer?, what if it is really missing like my mechanic said, will i be able to find it or should i replace the entire part?
                        And one more thing is i dont want to go to TVS ASC because i have had too many bad experiences with them, are other mechanic garages well equipped enough to do the job?

                            It comes under warranty. Till date, I have got it replaced TWICE after the speedo went abnormal!
                            The part has two things: a cable and a round structure (sensor) at the bottom which is connected to the wheel. I reckon, it is called Speedo dial/disc-up(?) or something.

                              Yes, it is covered under warranty. Mine also went kaput and the SVC fellows themselves told me that I need not to pay for this, they'll change it under warranty And yes, the mech told me that its around 400 INR.
