But if you mean that it didn't jump forward and engine turns off at the same place then it's ok. Look 1st gear always gives high pickup than 2nd or 3rd so if you let go the clutch on 1st then it moves forward and stalls but if on 3rd then it just stalls without moving forward (just little movement can be felt).
And since you've just done 1600km, the clutch plates should be ok. You can ask SVC to check the clutch lever play though.
About engine oil, use tru4 for free services as told and then change to any one semi-synth from following:
        Motul 5100 10W40, Shell AX7 10W40, Gulf pride 4t plus 10W40 or Castrol power1 15W40.
i mean the part in the bold thats why even i was surprised cause normally it would go off anyways showing it tomorrow to svc guys should i tell them to open the gearbox and check??Is opening the gearbox alot of work cause the svc guys here make alot of fuss.About engine oil isnt the 20w40grade the correct one for apache??

I cant tell exactly the mixture's condition by looking at those pics. Black means the setting is rich.

          Is the tip wet/dry?

I don't know if the gearbox is the culprit.
I think tru4 is 10W40 and tru4 premium is 10w30. Here, everyone says use any xW40 so i think 10w40, 15w40 and 20w40 can be used. Correct me guys if I'm wrong.
Some guys used motul 5100 15w50 and weren't happy with that.

Please use macro-shots when you take pics of spark plugs. It makes it easy for others to understand the condition of the plug/AFR, and you will have better diagnosis of the problem. Every basic camera has this option now. I have seen the pics here are usually blur and it's very hard to make a black tip from brown in that case. Just an advice, okay, I am not trying to be a smart-ass!

Moving on to the ownership topic, my bike has been running pretty darn good. Everything is so very composed and working fine. So much so that I had almost forgotten this ownership thread.

There are some braking issues which have started to creep in and that's why I am back.

I have recently changed the front brake pads and it feels mushy while braking hard. I mean, it's over 1 month now but they still haven't got the same-old bite. At triple-digit speeds it gets worse, I have to rely on the rear brakes more; pushing them more than they are capable of. Not at all a good practice IMO, as I nearly crashed on the backside of a 'Chhota Haathi' while on a recent highway spree. Lock and (power)-slide at over 100 kph, with proper smell of burning rubber. I could have been dead-I swear! So any suggestions on what could be the problem would be of great help.

PS: I believe in ABS more now!
If you ride like there's no tomorrow...worry not there won't be!

Not only the oil but use additive with oil. In course of time the viscousity of oil gets reduced, the oil becomes thineer, so additive prevents that.
Most importantly, the AF mixture. Make the air fuel misture richer, and rotate the RPM knob which controls the actual fuel flow to a bit linner side. This will make ur bike to take a good fuel, will drop mileage by 3-4 or so but u will feel a lot change in terms of vibs.
Lastly and not the least, pterol petrol, use a additive like Iftex, 5 ML for every 2ltrs of petrol.
Now check the pickup and grunt u will notice a drastic change.
I have tried Shell Semi synthic oil, its way too gud man.
                        cheers

                          • Hello Friends,

I've been using RTR 160 carb version since Aug 2007, since last few months i am facing weird series of issues for e.g.
                            1) Vibrations (though it is a known issue in RTR) at above 3K RPM which is annoying.
                            2) Tilting towards to left side, and sudden jerks.
                            3) Braking at 30 or 40 KMPH entire bikes shakes like a quake (am not daring to go above 65KMPH these days )
                            4) Losing the pickup, power in between.
                            5) Losing the grips on tarmac (Please don't imagine the WET road conditions)

OVER ALL I AM LOSING THE CONFIDENCE riding the RTR

Bike have clocked 46K, have changed the rear tyre to Zapper Q 110/90 in 2008, recently changed the both sprockets, clutch plates etc.

Not much mods though, any Experts suggestions on above mentioned issues.

Presuming a cone/ fork can be a culprit or do you guys think both the RIMS are damaged? also changing/ replacing a block piston or boring it from local garage would solve the issue? pretty much in confused state at this moment...

                            Please input your precious advice's.

                            Cheers,
                            Amogh.

Wait till 6000 km and then go for motul 5100 10w40 or shell ax7 10w40. Both are good. And try to stay away from car engine oils like castrol gtx.
For now , let svc fill what they want.

                                @all please reply
Guys, here every shop has castrol and servo only so i coudn't find motul, shell anywhere. I found gulf pride 4t but it's 900 ml and was Rs.230. I also found castrol power1 15w40 which was Rs.300 and the shop seemed nice n clean. I told the shopkeeper that there are so many fakes of castrol so i don't want to buy it. He showed me certificate of delearship of castrol and said that he only keeps castrol oils.
So, should i believe him and buy the castrol power1 or not?
