I have dropped my bike 2-3 times to the left due to this side stand is lil bit bent and it comes in the way of my left foot. What should be done for this ? I checked with mech he said it had to be removed and welded back again !!! is this correct ?

problems during biketrip.

Just returned after a road-trip to yelagiri from chennai. (550kms on the odo totally). It was one heck of a trip that insipite of a simple place like yelagiri. We were 7 members on a fazer, pulsar 150, passion plus and my rtr abs. without doubt the white menace got the most attention and repeated ride requests. Some were even addicted to it. Its performance just blew the competition away. Only thing the fazer was butter smooth and the vibrations in my rtr ruined some of the good name it earned. Now to the main issue.

I prepared my rtr 180 abs for the trip by giving it for service (had completed only 1k kms). During the beginning of the trip itself after 100kms my rtr refused to start by kicker (it was perfectly fine before the service) and even by self start also . I removed the air filter and found it was fresh. After i fixed it back the bike started through self start but was a bit sluggish ( the bike turned off sometimes after starting ). The kickstart is working now only after repeated kicks. And in the middle of the trip the taillight conked off. But i somehow rode on and completed the trip without it. Other wise the performance was just pure awesome. What might have happened in the service or might there be any other issue. ?

just a few guesses- check the choke lever,if it's in ON, then due to overflow,bike will switch off after start. Also check the battery and any short-circuit.

What is the idle rpm of your rtr? And yes do clean the +ve and -ve of the battery

If ridden less than 7000kms, try the following premium mineral oils:
Motul 3000 4T Plus 20W40
Shell Advance AX5 10W40

If ridden more:
Motul 5100 4T 10W40
Shell Advance AX7 10W40

If completed over 10K kms, and want to try a full synthetic engine oil:
Shell Advance Ultra 10W40 (check the oil level often)

Replace the engine oil filter too no matter what oil.

as i had completed my second service on 2106kms now its been 3240kms and according to service booklet next service should be on 5000 to 6000kms and i am thinking to get one service done from my towns one of good mechanics (heard from many of my knows that he is very good mechanic) i talked to him today about the top speed to be 126 and Rpm 9k he asked me that is bike is creating sounds a bit i said yes he said sir no need to worry i will do it some tappets and other tuning is to be done and he saying to put ELF MOTO 4 GOLD 20W40 engine oil to give it a try if i like it or notso m taking beast to get one service done and by adding a service in this period company people will also didn't get to know about any thing and my warranty will not be void
is it OK to do?? what about elf oil any reviews?
