Guys, although i don't participate much in the issues here on xbhp but a regular reader of the threads. i need your opinion regarding a issue i am facing with TVS people.
I met with a small accident on 4th feb 2012 and my RTR180 met with some damages to front part. Gave my bike to Oceanic TVS,ahmedabad because i purchased my bike from there. It took hell lot more than that to get my bike fixed from them as they were always delaying and not behaving properly. After 20 days when i got to know they haven't even started with the repairing process i finally mailed higher TVS officials and finally that led to my bike getting delivered to me after 25days.Problems didn't end there because bike was having various problems such as horn, headlight not working at times, tachometer not functioning, thud sound from back of the bike every time it went over a speedbreaker and the handle alignment not at all right. I again got it all rectified arguing with these people. Got my bike back and got it checked with a personal mechanic regarding wobbling front wheel and i came to know the rim is bent and TVS didn't changed it even though it was on the list of insurance approval. i got pissed and went back to them. Again took the trouble of going through with the argument and finally got it changed. And the biggest part, yesterday came to know at a puncture shop that my RTR180 has been fitted with a tube during the time they changed the front rim and the mechanic showed me tube had no company name, was of size bigger than the tyre and even that work wasn't done properly.I lost my patience and told the director of showroom and the workshop people that enough is enough. Even the service head of TVS,Gujarat called me trying to convince that i should not go and complaint in consumer forum and this all can be fixed today and i'll send personnel to get it fixed.
Guys i have been through mental harrasment of more than 1 and a half month and havent been able to get my RTR back to the way it was. I have tried to put my story in as short as possible so you can imagine what kind of experience it has been.
Please guide me what should i do?

Even I've experienced somewhat similar after sales service of TVS. TVS SVCs are bullshit. Kinda regretting my decision that I opted for TVS instead of Honda.Originally posted by Maverickk View PostGuys, although i don't participate much in the issues here on xbhp but a regular reader of the threads. i need your opinion regarding a issue i am facing with TVS people.

Any one from Pune knows any good mechanic who'll be able to fix my RTR160? It's having various issues which I've already mentioned earlier in this thread. TVS SVCs are pathetic.

Got my third service done....switched to shell AX7 10W40 semi synthetic oil. Totally like the oil!! the bike is so smooth.....and now mileage increased from 37 to 44 !!

When I Ride my bike I don't feel like a common man.
I feel special.
I feel something which is beyond words.
That is the thing which makes my bike special, me special, the whole ride seem exceptional .

Nothing much is done in the first service except for Engine Oil Change and some carb tuning. But yeah, the first 1000 kms of RTR is always harsher!
It's always better to lose a second in life than to lose life in a second!

Bro when ever i get my bike upto speeds like 60-65 i feel strain in the engine... vibration starts to kick in .. do you think that it will reduce once the second service is done ?
can i take my bike to speeds like 80-90 once i am done with 1000km on oddo ?A new Day, a new Journey, a new Story!

Most rtr s vibrate in 4-5 k which corresponds to speed you mentioned. vibration will reduce but not go away. you can go to higher speeds after 1k kms. meanwhile make sure you allow for sufficient engine braking in all gears. take care & ride safeOriginally posted by Iceman_1 View PostBro when ever i get my bike upto speeds like 60-65 i feel strain in the engine... vibration starts to kick in .. do you think that it will reduce once the second service is done ?

I'm planning to switch to synthetic oil, so can anyone tell me if the below mentioned oil is suitable for my Apache RTR 180 ABS?
Motul 300 V Factory Line 4T 15W50
If not this, which is the recommended synthetic oil. Please suggest only Motul oils, thanks.

^^Motul 5100 ester 4T 10W40 (semi-synthetic) is very much enough for our ride.
But, if you want to try the 300V FL, use W40 grade and avoid W50 which hampers the free revving nature @ higher revs to some extent.
Cheers,
Ride safe. The Apache is ever willing to red line each cog, but the Rider ain't. Enjoy RTR, Safely. Period.
