Oh god, I thought of going to Boxer AR full sprocket kit (front 13 and rear 47), so if I had gone for that setup, then the results I will get is 5 teeth higher i.e. I will get the performance of a 50T sprocket at rear!

Just visited the Hero Dealer today. Saw a limited edition Splendor there. It was black with black alloys and different green graphics. The seat was also slightly different. Otherwise the dealer was only willing to sell black bikes with either blue or grey graphics. None of the other choices in the website were available. OTR price was Rs.56081/- and the limited edition was Rs.680/- extra.
I inquired about the disk brake option. They said it was not available. When I asked about retrofitting, they asked me to meet the Service Manager. He said it was possible but the following parts would be required from the Passion Pro:
        1. Disk brake, piping & lever.
        2. Alloy wheel (He said the original Splendor alloy cannot be used).
        3. Fork tubes and bottom (He said the size was different so replacing only the right bottom was not possible).

The approximate cost would be Rs.12000/-.

I somehow have my doubts about the Alloy wheel and the forks. Can someone confirm?

Please note: I am fully aware that the stock drum brake is more than adequate for the job but I was hoping to get the disk mod done in 3-4k so wanted to do it. Also I am aware that there is a strong opinion that the spoke wheels are better than the alloys but then I live in Goa where rusting is a major problem. Also I feel the alloys look better on this bike. Spokes are more suited to bikes with a lot of chrome. Just my personal opinion.

Regarding that oil leak from right side crank case, It seems leaking from the alternator cover, i told the mechanic and he went for new oil seal for alternator but the oil still leaking
from the marked area... he used some paste/glue but its not holding. I am getting few drops after each riding session under the engine block.

          Any workaround ?

Update : thrice oil seal changed but it seems oil still get past... might be due to Lower viscosity oil 10W30 used by mistake. The recommended grade is 20W40..
Engine runs noticeably hotter with 10W30 i will try reverting to 20W40 next drain

The previous limited was in gold with black cast wheels , and black wheels don't look too bad on the Splendor - only I can't stand the silver finish ones .

The problem with the modifications you propose is not even the cost , Rs 12k is not big money in today's economy and you can always sell the spares from Splendor easily . The problem is when you switch large assemblies from one model to another - the results are not predictable and small misfits shall remain and you shall be out there on your own . Neither the company(Hero) or it's service centers or other mechanics or shop which sold you the parts shall stand by you for the hybrid problems .

As for the rim rusting , it's also a problem in wet weather here in kolkata or even orissa . This is what you can do about it - http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/motorcyc...tml#post604383

I was a Yamaha fanboy all my youth and used to miss their excellent( really ) 130mm drum brakes on both wheels when I bought my Splendor . This is what I did to improve them and they are working 100% better ever since - http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/motorcyc...tml#post887366

The culprit appears to be the large O-ring on the stator plate, which may be checked and replaced. That must solve the problem as had happened in my splendor+.
10W30 is not the culprit. By the way, Veedol Super Swift 10W40 runs pretty well in my engine.
Maybe the metal contacts of engine case or stator plate have taken a HIT during repairs, which may be fixed with thorough cleaning and using Anabond (or similar high temperature liquid gasket makers).

                Thanks a ton.

The improvement is quite amazing. I've placed a Swiss make Bullet Machismo regulator for improving headlight in my splendor+ as has been suggested in your previous posts.

Though there is not much improvement at idle speeds, but upon slight touch of throttle it outperforms even latest splendors.

I suppose it will improve even in CD100SS..........

                Thanks again.

Ok for the front disc it can be converted in much cheaper way. If you are buying splendor pro, then it is cheaper. By special edition I suppose its splendor pro. You can do it in cheaper way. Why let me say.

Splendor+ shocks and pro shocks different. Splendor+ has normal telescopic shocks and splendor pro has ceraini telescopic shock absorber. Same with glamor, super splendor and extreme.
Ceraini telescope difference is that it has bush in fork lower portion like Suzuki samurai.
So if are buying splendor pro its easier.

                  You need the following spares:-
                  1. Front lower tube from glamor disc:- Rs 600*2 (both sides).
                  2. Speedo pinion set for disc brake- ₹220( may be from glamor analogue or extreme analogue).
                  3. Alloy from glamour disc- ₹ 2250
                  4. Disc plate from glamor-₹ 1100.
                  5. Master cylinder from glamour - ₹ 1200.
                  6. Calliper with disc pads from glamor- ₹1400.
                  7. Brake line.
Now you are good to go.
Sell the old alloy of old

I forgot - what is the size of the Splendor's steering head nut - the big shiny one ? What kind of spanner would be appropriate for it ? There is a special spanner for the steering head adjustment nut , saw it with a mechanic once . Is it available in the market ?

I remember seeing the term Ceriani forks in Samurai/Shogun spec sheets. Thought Splendor also had the same forks.
On checking, could see that the brand Ceriani is now owned by Paioli, famous suspension makers. Bullet Cafe racer's rear shocks are from Paioli.

Its becoming headache : Leaking Carburetor through overflow tube. Now its happening even if fuel knob is at Off position. I tried changing the Float valve and Float itself and its becoming worse

Does this troubleshooting guide of any use ?

There is only two ways fuel can get out through the overflow tube .
                              i) the level of fuel in the float-bowl is somehow exceeding the height of the overflow tube
ii) carb bowl drain screw is not seating or sealing tight .

Thirdly a leaking float-bowl o-ring may cause fuel to drip in a way that appears to come from the overflow tube , but is actually crawling outside it's length . Can you post a picture of your old and new floats ? They are OE parts ?
