No worries and also want to add I had thunderbird which I didn't have that positive experience and finally I sold it. It definitely has looks but performance and maintenance wise. You can always modify handle, seats or add things to your comfort. It will still cost you less on what will you spend on a classic or TB. The crank of 500 cc and extremely durable bike in the RE series. Also it has drum breaks in front but it much larger than your usual drums and gives good performance once you ride it for while. Lastly you will own the oldest motorcycle model running in the world. Hope this helps you make the best decision. Happy thumping and safe riding. Do share your final choice.

I am not a professional mechanic...But i Repair, reconstruct,Service my own machines...familiar with Apache RTR, pulsar, fiero, honda..etc..But new to RE
Need some RE TB expert's advice..
Problem No1:
When my bike is cold (Early morning) no noise from head or tappets totally butter smooth...But after riding around 10-15kms..sound from head started..loud..like kadak..kadak..kadak..kadak..kadak..kadak..in-between Some tik tik tik sound... also....
Problem No2:
My oil level indicator shows no oil after a ride...(Landed in centre stand) But after a few hours its shows in between Min and max.is this normal??
Problem No3:
how to get rid of knocking..(5th gear 40kmph speed) if i ride above 55kmph speed no gerk no knocking is their is any sprockets avail for this? (i am Mostly a city Rider rare in hi-ways)

Doubt:
What about the fact in oil change?? i have to refill some amount of oil in Clutch cover case also? or only fill up in main oil filler cap itself(Right side crank case cover) if yes then what for the filler nut in the left clutch case???

My Machine passed around 9000kms only

Finally i compared my TB With a Clasic 350..ride for a while the found less noise from classic 350..and more noise from my TB..So i suspecting that maybe my hydraulic tappets are kaput..

The bike had stalled around 3 times in the first 10 days itself post which after getting tough with the showroom and service centre it was all rectified.. The bike is always covered and kept in a closed parking area... 1st service is up this week but I am pretty paranoid about riding the bike as of now because of this smell as the thought of pushing this bike again incase it stalls again gives me the creeps... Smell is normal since the engine is new. Go to a good ASC and tell them the issues and ask them to inspect the bike in full. After the first service, better go for a long drive and see everything is up to your satisfaction. It's sad RE is not keeping up the standards in manufacturing. They have increased the prices of their bikes by 25k in two years across all models.

I had plans of buying the classic 350 as im a college goer and standard doesnt suit me currently ( nor does she like it) i had thought of it as a comfortable bike for my needs based on my short rides on it. A few days back i rode the classic for almost the whole day covering roughly 100 kms with pillion and man it is so not comfortable i couldn't sit on the floor as my tailbone would hurt. I even got a blister on my hand so it is my most humble request to everyone to let me know what are my options as a comfortable bike and i was keen on the thunderbird too but is out of budget slightly more than classic so please help me.?
RE Stock seats are not very soft. They are rigid for quite a lot of users. Most of my RE Friends (in Mumbai) have got the seats changed to Something Known as 'Perfect Seats'. Supposedly very known for RE Seats and available almost anywhere in IN with a bit of search.

BUT,

THIS Advice would work Only If Seat is the issue you faced. If its with the posture and other stuff, then perhaps you may have to look for other variants/bikes.

Also, TBTS Seats have a back rest sort of stubby thingy for the pillion, makes it less Roomy for pillion than Classic model.

As for the Blisters, this i never encountered, and i ride a TBTS 100Kms daily in HYD Sun and SuperBad Road conditions. Get good gloves!

Dont wait till service Date to get the bike checked. You have a warranty, so take every problem to the Service centre and let them check it.

In case you are facing too many issues with the bike, send them an email each time an issue occurs - this is not for Them to pay attention to the issue, but for You to have a record of each and every issue and fix and time reported/resolved. In case you ever need to claim warranty you will have a record of every issue faced and that you reported every issue to the SVC. Also will help you escalate.

Regarding oil level, it is the same case with my bike. So i guess it's not a problem.

And for problem no 3, why are you riding 40kmph at 5 th gear? I engage 5 th gear speeds 55-65. 3rd amd 4 th gear is fine for 40ish speeds.

1. When you do the cold start please let the bike come to constant idle @900-1100 rpm I.e. Let the bike heat up. You will get less noise. But the tappets noise will be there as the design is such.

2. Your oil indication is fine.

3. You are riding too slow at higher gears. Stick to the recommended speed gear readings as in the manual or shift at least above 2500 rpm.

4.The EFI engine has only one oil chamber. The drain nut is under the engine body. There are two filters. The only inlet section is right next to the starter motor. Check engine Manual for details.

Your motorcycle is doing fine by what you have explained. This kind of nitpicking will only give you a troubled mind. Regular service will keep the bike on track.
Cheerio!

Hello all, after so many analysis I have decided to go with TBTS 350 and booked it last week, and I'm expecting the ride in next few weeks.

Since I will be parking the bike in an open space, am just curious to know whether its safe? still do any of you face this 'water entering the meter console' problem?

Thanks much!

yeah, I would put a cover.. but my concern is whether there is any problem like that or if any of you faced it in recent months?

Hello Friends,
I need one help, recently i purchased RE TB350 (1 week). I used to start bull using choke in cold mornings (Temp: 20 deg C) & kept for 30-40 seconds in idling. Now after travelling 2-3 kms, engine immediately dies out whenever i reduced the throttle to zero position (at idling rpm), The idle engine RPM for my bull is 1200 rpm. please suggest the solution
