    You are correct on this.

Is this not valid for Ninja and other sportsbike? We need to get it serviced only after the specified Kms provided they are running good till the next service interval ?

I suppose the answer to this query lies in the technology.
For all sportsbike , the technology being used is way more advanced than our pulsaars..
I remember the last time i got my engine oil changes for the bike (after using it for 4000km odd). Prasanna told that the oil still has some lubrication life left and could have run another 1000kms or so.
Point to be noted here is : it was normal oil - Castrol which dies out at 2000kms in normal bikes.

Correct me If i am wrong.

      Why what happened??

      • Guys, what are the things that need to be replaced in 2nd service. My machine is 4.5k kms on the odo now. It runs on Motul 5100 15w50 technosynthese from the 1000 kms mark(1st service). Is it advisable to carryout the 2nd service on 5k kms or 6k kms?

I think you can get the bike serviced at 6K kms and might go for a change in engine oil.

            unquote........................................... .................................................. .............................................

you are correct.the thing is in any "MODERN ENGINE" is water cooled and for this single fact only the engine temp fluctuation is much much lesser.if you see any aircooled engines without oil cooler fuction the life will be much much less as the heat fluctuation is too much.heat denatures the oil and absence of a dedicated engine oil filter which can be changed with every oil change.so as a result the oil goes out in 3k kms. but if the oil cooler and oil filter offered in the equation ,in p 220 as example, the engine oil can be used upto 4k,still it can be improved if the engine temp is controlled a bit less and a dedicated replaceable engine oil filter.
in case of water cooled with dedicated engine oil filter the life of engine oil very high, just see the r 15,ninja or infact any cars.

also there is no denial that the component used in these engines are top of the line and much much better then what used by desi manufacturers.

but the question is now ,still the way bajaj: ninja: is demanding from its customers.
i mean 500 rs per hour is the money even merc charges for there top of the line cars and i belive the ninja special trained thingy is very much overrated.today you go to any service center the people are working there dont know very basic things and misses very basic faults and people gets frustrarted.they start to curse the manufacturers for the fault.
the bottom line is i still believe the bajaj kawasaki ninja spare parts cost is exorbitantly high.

buying a ninja is a dream but with this kind of exorbitant maintenance cost involved to it i would see the scene for come more time.

You are correct.. but what i think is that bajaj has not made any money selling these bikes.. (compare it with the UK price.).. but they have and will have to make money out of service and repairs..

The whole game plan is keep price as least as possible, more bikes will sell and then ask all those who have purchased it , to pay premium on spares and service.. .. I like bajaj's strategy.

And as far as dreams go.. please go thru.. http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/superbik...cut-dream.html

And change your dream into reality.

                • Hey guys ,

Visited the Chennai Probiking showroom to see if my bike's here and they said that there weren't many green's at the factory itself ! so i gotta wait for another 10 long days unfortunately . They has tentatively said 3 weeks and its just been prolonged .

In the meantime these are on their way from the US .

First two are for the Ninja 250r . The last is for my R15 .
Stock is boring , power is everything .

                  • The parts are expensive because they are imported, and the prices are equal to the US prices. It is just that we have got used to getting spare parts so cheap for our homegrown bikes that the difference becomes so glaring. Ninja parts are actually supersports quality, so even superbike spares should cost similar.

The bajaj service charge is exhorbitant. Absolutely, without reasonable doubt.

Most labor. Replaced parts in 3rd service are
                            1) Oil
                            2) Oil filter
                            3) Spark plugs x2

Rest is all labor, which includes opening the cylinder head and checking valve clearances, and a few more checks which are not in 1st and 2nd services.
