                hero Honda CD deluxe 2009 self start front teeth 14 rear sprocket teeth 44 with H09s written on rear sprocket side. Moreover chain is already weared out after 43000 kms so I have to purchase new set sprocket 'so it will be better for me to purchase with bigger rear sprocket. At Chandigarh I asked for bigger sprocket rear one they offered rear sprocket of 42 teeth with same dia of my old rear sprocket which I refused. does no. teeth increased matter or actually dia. of sprocket that increases torque ? please help

                  Ok, the diameter doesn't make any difference.. The sprocket offered to you 42 T is the best option available.. The Karizma has a 40T rear sprocket and 13T front sprocket.. the problem is with the size of the pitch.. as in the chain links.. Karizma and Pulsar 220s use .520 size and your bike uses .428

                  Why are you changing the rear sprocket alone? Is the front sprocket in good condition? My other suggestion is get both the front and rear sprockets changed together..

                  if the number of teeth increases in the rear, the top speed gets reduced and the acceleration increases and vice versa..

                  in your case, you want to move from 44T to 42T and hence your top speed will increase giving you a better cruising capabilities with less strain to your engine on highways and in city, the FE read fuel economy will reduce but negligible..

                  if you move from 44T to 46T (if available) then your acceleration will increase and top speed will reduce..

                    Thanks for information I have been doing research today and I am getting Bajaj boxer chain whole sprocket set of Rs 530 with 13/47 teeths as this will fulfill my all needs of increasing acceleration but I stopped from buying because of fear of unfit of front sprcket & rear sprocket on wheel hub of hero honda cd deluxe although no. of holes for sprocket fitting are same of both front 2 holes & rear sprocket 4 holes. Please help whether they will fit on hero honda cd deluxe?
