Yes. It would blink in a pattern with the engine light ON.Originally posted by ice man View Post. Malfunction Light should glow if Fi was faulty ?
Every 8-10k km on a healthy engine. Else whenever it starts ringing. Make sure your mech uses a 0.1 mm feeler gauge to set tappets and not a plier.Originally posted by omkappoor999 View Postsir please tell me after how many kms i need to get the tappet of my bike tightened?Got a $5 head? In my knowledge, ZMA, ZMR aren't in production. Only old BS3 stocks maybe available. I'd avoid them for now.Originally posted by srinath2494 View PostOwners, would you recommend buying Karizma or Karizma ZMR in 2017?Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

hero has stopped production of these two bikes, due to poor sales of karizma'sOriginally posted by srinath2494 View PostOwners, would you recommend buying Karizma or Karizma ZMR in 2017?
else of buying a new karizma i would recommend buying ns200,rs200 ,domi, rtr 200
or whatever bike you feel is best for you
and if you are particulary interested in buying the karizma ,then.you should get a used
karizma r (the model which came till 2014)
i have an 2009 karizma r 25,000 kms
which is still going strong.
the new ones are piece of crap

dont know about the website but a person who works in hero moto corpOriginally posted by srinath2494 View PostGreat info. I like the Duet in Hero portfolio lol

said that the company is not intrested in converting the karizmas to bs4 ,due to poor sales, also you must have seen that it looks horrible from behind,,,so it has stopped the production and planning to launch a new karizma in 2018
and then if you are going for a duet,i would suggest to go for an activa
hero quality has gone down now ,
wheres honda provides solid viechels
with robust construction and strong built quality

I'd say quality is bad with maestro. Duet feels better. Not much of a difference with activa, even newer activas are poorly built. I'd buy a second hand 1st gen activa which might be 50k km+ old and still has robust engine without reboring and all lol

Makes sense, guess he might've gone for an all-out convert replacing the electricals in the process.Originally posted by omkappoor999 View Postthe mechanic removed all the sensors which were in zmr
and put something(i exactly dont know what is was) from a scrapped karizma r which was eating dust in his shop ,in place for the throttle position sensors and other parts which he removed(sorry i couldnt mention the name of the parts coz i am no expert)
Hence the reaosn why you've not experienced any permance jitters with the motorcycle.Motorcycling Experience:

Alternatively, you can buy ABRO at IOCL bunks.
It's because 10w30 is thinner than 10w40 and it doesn't provide as good a protection as w40 in heavy traffic conditions.
Hello
I think i found one of the culprit.
I used to use Shell V Power petrol all these days.. in highways it feel better but in super heavy traffic it makes the engine get heat a lot and engine noise also will be bit louder when its heat. Last week i had been for a long drive and i had to fill the bike with Bharat petroleum's Speed petrol. it was smooth and not the same as V power, made a full tank empty and felt better. did a full tank yesterday. will see how it goes.
And another thing. When i put 10W40 oil, pick up reduced and even reaching 80 was taking time and noise above 60 was bit more but below 60 it was smooth and cool.

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
Hey guys,
I'm new here and excited to finally be in a massive forum. I have the 2013 Karizma, third owner, currently at 34k on the ODO, and use it as acommuter, 17k of these have been my own in the past 1 year. I am based in Kenya.
What's the availability of non-typical service spares for this bike? We have a local dealer who never has parts and even service parts can sometimes be a problem. I resorted to getting some company like GetFriday to purchase the parts for me and ship them here. But with a recent order I placed for some typical small service parts, and also a cylinder head for a friend, they have been unable to find parts even after asking in multiple states, and main Hero office just referred them back to Bangalore.
I now want to sell the bike and get an NS200 because I'm done with the spares headache. Thoughts?
P.S. I love Indian bikes because of the cost of parts. It's really crazy compared to the Japanese, European bikes etc.

yes bro ,getting parts for zmr is a real headache, the svc's guys says that the waiting period can go upto 6 months, but then also they are not sure that they would get it or notOriginally posted by ThePossum View PostHey guys,

the main reason for it is that the bike has been discontiued, also the newer model is no more,,hero has been poor in providing spare parts, not only for zmr but for other bikes too
I also had a very poor experience with hero motocorp
yeah definitely you should go for an ns
it is far way better than zmr, also the spares are easily available.

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
Hi guys,
I need help on 2 fronts here! I've had 2 accidents with the ZMR so far. It's only about 2 weeks ago that I learnt fully what that meant.
1. First accident, in my novice days, full of youthful energy, I rammed into an old metal body Mitsubishi at a relative high speed. At about 50kph. Result of this was damaged headlight assembly, broken top bridge near the forks, and as I learnt 2 weeks ago, bent frame. All have been fixed except the frame. I have been riding the bike in that for over 1 year and 3 months. The frame means that the bike no longer follows a straight line, so I have to subconciously apply mild counter steer every time I ride. Also, when riding behind the bike, one can clearly see the front- wheel is slightly to the left of the bike. Can the frame be corrected? Is it possible to get a new frame for the 2013 in India? I am based in Kenya.
2. Accident 2: Fell asleep on the bike and crashed. Didn't see this reason coming. Anyway, a few months later, engine has had to be opened etc. Before it was opened, bike would hit 120 on being pushed, but after taking it back to mechanics a few weeks ago because the bike started stalling, it came out and only does 110kph at best on straight line, and sometimes every barely gets past 104. We had put in a new piston and rings, the mechanic says timing is okay. But I don't understand what could have changed with it being taken back just recently like that.
Any ideas. I am selling the bike soon, and would like to have a solution for the next buyer before it goes.

Yes, the frame being the same would be available on order. You can get it ordered through your dealership. They'll in turn collaborate with their parent stockist in India. But keep the turn around time of 3 months approx.

How old/good are spark plug, air filter and chain sprockets?Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
Hi Guys,
My RVM has become loose(near the mirror, not near the joint between RVM and dome). when i cross above 50kmph it bends and i need to keep adjusting it.
In normal mirrors there will be 3 screws to tighten when its get loose. but here its completely molded and no screws.
Is this a very common problem ? if so i do not want to change both the RVM's as it lasts for few months or an yr.
I have got a scratch in the left faring top on the hero sticker. its bit deep but with the change of sticker it will not be visible. But i am not sure if i can get only left side sticker. (only hero, not entire sticker set of left side) and the entire sticker set costs above Rs.1500 or so and not available in ASCs..
