      Hello Dviya Sharan,
      Thanks for your suggestions.
As you suggested me , i tried using Shell Helix AX7 ss oil 10w40 grade.
previously i used to use Motul hybrid 10w30 which was very good, long lasting and best ever gear shift.

Using 10w40 grade was good. In city traffic engine heat drastically reduced, milage slightly increased*( may be because engine was cool it never evaporated the fuel from fuel tank as tank was never hot) also reduced the harsh feeling of the engine below 60 kmph

But then i could notice major difference which made me replace the oil in 4 days.

      1) pickup was lower
      2) response of the acceleration was lesser. to go beyond 80 it takes time and more acceleration
      3) noise of the engine when above 60 was more and it started giving internal vibrations when tried to go above 80
      4) felt it screwed the existing tappet settings.

I changed back again to motul hybrid 10w30 and best gearshift is back and pickup also increased.

But the next day of changing back the 10w30 oil i gave the bike for serivce and asked them not to touch/change the engine oil.
i got a call from them saying they need to change the air-filter and i agreed. but i didnt ask the, to adjust or check tappet gap.

Now after service bike has some vibes not much and pickup reduced bit compared to the previous performance.

is it because of the new air filter? if yes, how long will it take to set properly ? and how can i notice the tappet notice? cannot observe tappet notice in zmr as easily as of other 150 cc bikes.

The points you have highlighted around acceleration and pick up are perhaps more than engine oil!I think Divya's point was from perspective of using right grade of oil or perhaps a better one to aid running but the issues you are suggesting perhaps and length of the ownership of the bike suggest you try the following to regain lost pickup/acceleration :

Check chain sprocket condition, if fine get it cleaned if necessary using petrol/wd40 and lubricate
            Adjust chain tension
Replace accelerator cable ( you will see notable difference), also replace clutch cable
Some workshop clean up the piston/ cylinder head either manually or by using some liquid ..try that
Correct tyre pressure and correct tyre specification ( too heavy a tyre can cause a drop)

              Hello guys,
i am having 2011 karizma zmr which has only run 32000km as i don't use it much. Recently left my zmr unused for 8 months. Now i am having an issue of bike giving Jerk and not starting normally as it use to be. Bike jerks more when Headlight is ON. I have charged my Battery and it is 1.8 Years old. I gave my bike to SVC 2 days before and they suspect fuel pump to be faulty. can anyone tell if fuel pump is kaput or some thing else ?

yes fuel pump is a very common problem in zmr
it would cost around 12k new
I would suggest to go to a local knowned mechanic ask him to verify
that is it really the fuel pump or something else(because the svc guys are not trustworthy, they would be trying to make money out of it)
and if it is the fuel pump
i would suggest you to get your zmr converted to carburretor
one of my friend did the same
and now his zmr is working perfect.

I'm curious about how the TPS would function in the case of a Carb convert.

the mechanic removed all the sensors which were in zmr
and put something(i exactly dont know what is was) from a scrapped karizma r which was eating dust in his shop ,in place for the throttle position sensors and other parts which he removed(sorry i couldnt mention the name of the parts coz i am no expert)

Shell helix is a car engine oil. AX7 is a different oil. If you used Helix, it would cause slippage in the clutch and would reduce pickup. Share a pic of the oil used.
And an air filter change should give a perception of increased pick up, not the opposite.

Fuel pump would go kaput if the bike is attempted to be started without fuel/low fuel. I hope you poured some petrol before trying to start the bike after 8 months gap. Meanwhile, you can just get the fuel tank drained and cleaned. Use SystemG (BP petrol stations) for a couple of tank fills to run the injectors clean.

                            Hello,
Sorry my bad. I meant Shell advance AX7 10W40. Common one, blue colored container.

I also feel the sound is bit loud i mean like its harsh and dry, no moisture in the tone of the sound. And at times it will be smooth. i think when its heated up in the peak city traffic it no longer can remain smoother

Iftex System G is a fuel additive. It's sold at BP petrol bunks only. Add 1 ml per liter.

Alternatively, you can buy ABRO at IOCL bunks.

It's because 10w30 is thinner than 10w40 and it doesn't provide as good a protection as w40 in heavy traffic conditions.

Yes i know that and i always leave half tank petrol. The service center guy have cleaned the tank and pump, checked all the fuses and wiring as of now they don't have donor fuel pump to test on my bike to confirm my fuel pump is faulty.
