Slowly and steadily approaching the 50K mark.[emoji2]

    Hello,
My bike is also almost of same age. Even our Reg. No differs by few 100's
My bike had fallen down in a parking lot for few mins ( may be 15 min max, as i had only went for 20 mins). after i lifted the bike it started without any problem and was totally normal for 2 days. it had just got few minor scratches thats all.
But on the third day, i didnt use the bike as it was raining. on the 4th morning, when i started the bike i was shocked as the self start didnt work in a single tick and also in the meter assembly things went off and ecu light turned on again and time and trip meter got reset.

But then it started when i tried again. Later on riding battery got charged and it was ok but not like before. now i get the same effect at least once in day.

    i have 2 concerns now

    1) May this battery effect due to the fall ? (any wiring or contact problem) it was perfectly alright til then and even when i had tried starting the bike after 8-9 days of halt also it used to work in a single tick in a single second.

    2) The battery is still charging on riding the bike, but if i have to turn off the bike in signals in short time, it will show the effect again. Will this issue cause any problem to ecu, fuel pump and sensors? now it is very difficult to get the spares.

The horn, headlight works fine and no effect is seen.

Bro please tell me where you got your battery changed.

    Thanks

Please find my reply in bold.

Bro in my case the battery was already little weak , and my repeated attempts to start the bike completely killed the battery.

      1. FROM WHAT I UNDERSTAND YOUR BATTERY TOO MAY HAVE TAKEN THE TOLL AFTER THE REPEATED ATTEMPTS TO START . It's probably the age of the battery too that has resulted in complete battery failure.

Although 3.4years life of the stock battery is more than average [emoji16]

      2. MY BIKE HAD SIMILAR SYMPTOMS AS YOUR'S

PLEASE CHANGE THE BATTERY AS REPEATED ATTEMPTS TO START ENGINE WITH WEAK BATTERY WILL PUT MORE STRAIN ON ECU/FUEL PUMP.

I purchased the battery from a know shop near Kadugodi and replaced my self.

Will share the shop name and contact details if you need.

Every time I start the bike, the FI light (the one that is orange) lights up momentarily. Is it the battery dying or the fuel injectors that need cleaning?

BTW, the battery is currently at 4 years 2 months, so the other thing that happens is that the clock resets every time I start the bike.

            Inputs please!!

The light should blink in a pattern. Kindly look for the pattern. I remember I have posted what the patterns mean somewhere in this ZMR ownership page! Search it. You might find it useful

                  Hello,
It is the sign of battery low. i faced the same symptoms. either take it to ASC they will recharge and give if the battery is still in good condition to hold the charge or go to a battery shop and get it changed yourself.

                  Hello guys,

I need to change the Silencer cover (Golden) mine has got many scratches.

But i couldn't find the spares in any nearby ASC. Is there any third party like safebikes who have the ZMR parts? i couldn't find it in safebikes. Also our xbhp Bangalorians can help me if they know any shop or ASC where I can probably find the part.

                  Thanks

BTW, Guys, I carried out an experiment for a total of approx 3000 KM: half without the snorkel (in hot weather until the onset of winter) and the other with the snorkel (in winter). The entire duration, I used only Motul 20-50 semi-synthetic.

                      The result was interesting.

                      Without the snorkel:
Pros -- The bike stayed cool and engine oil lasted more than 1600 KM. No knocking associated with overheating. Less vibration. Higher cruising speed. Crawling traffic too doesn't generate much heat.
Cons -- Low-end torque suffers a bit. Slightly increased noise but well-tolerated even on long rides.

When I reverted to using the snorkel: The same issues cropped up. Absurd heat. Frequent engine oil changes, roughly at 600 to 800 KM.

I did not find any difference in fuel consumption!!

Hi all, my stock rear tire is almost gone. It has 10 plus punctures and I'm now using a tube inside. I initially decided to go for a wider rear tire that has a button pattern but now Michelin, Ceat and even MRF have come out with good options for 100/90/18. It's hard to tell which is the best. I only ride the zimmer on the highway, so I'm looking for a better tread pattern. The stock MRF nylogrip sucks on the city and even highways. Can anybody suggest me a good tyre based on highway experience and whether it's safe to go for a wider rear, 110/90/18.. TIA

I would suggest stick to the 100/90-18 profile. Maybe if you can source a zapper vyde in the same profile should give you amazing grip in all situations. Else i would suggest the Masseter X in the same profile. Both are soft compound tire keep that in mind.

But if you insist on a button type one then you can also look at Mogrip series in Mrf or the Michelin Sirac. And no harm in upgrading to 110/90-18 but dont upsize beyond that. But i see no point in upgrading when the stock profile does the job for you.
