Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
Hi All,
Facing issue in my ZMR bike. Once a engine is cold and I start my ZMR it behaves very strange and same can be hear in engine rotation. If I turn off and start again...engine halt.
Once engine become hot approx 3/4 km of riding then no issue thereafter.

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
Hi,
I am looking for an older Karizma pre-2014 for touring purpose however I am afraid of availability of spares.
Can somebody confirms if the spares are easily available of the shelf?
Is it worth buying the bike now? (as it is dis-continued)
What price should I pay for it?
Regards

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
For touring purpose at sedate speed of less than 100kmph zmr/r still is the most comfortable and reliable bike.Originally posted by Mandar_C500 View PostHi,

Consumable spares like air filter, spark plug, clutch plates, cables etc are available. Spares which are not sold frequently are "not available" and may have to wait for months.
A good condition pre 2014 zmr may cost you less than 50k after negotiation.

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
I have not dropped the idea of FZ25 but Power figures are almost the same, and also do some mods on it hence checking the options.Originally posted by ankit.traveller View PostHave u dropped fz25 plan? I have sold my 2013 karizma r 50k kms just few days back @34k
So my logic is 35K + 20K on re-building it and 10K for mods = 65K total, which is half of the FZ25.
But spares is an issue then I need to re-think about it.
isn't new model parts direct fit on the old one as engine is identical?

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
If you thinking to get zmr (fi one) then double check if its fuel pump is not faulty coz zmr original fuel pump cost 12000/-. Consider following minimum approx expenses for making second hand fair condition karizma perfect for touring-Originally posted by Mandar_C500 View PostI have not dropped the idea of FZ25 but Power figures are almost the same, and also do some mods on it hence checking the options.

New model parts also very difficult to get, also some parts are different from old model.
Regarding fz25, I will be getting mine on 28th and let me tell you its power delivery is way different from papers. Its 0-100 in 8.5 sec compared to karizma 14 sec, also torque spread is far better than karizma due to its gearing. Perfect for touring in Indian conditions @ reasonable price and less gizmo gazette which become headache later.

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
Thanks Ankit for the heads-up, from the above description I don't see any point in buying Karizma. One more point missed above is the peace of mind after buying new bike.Originally posted by ankit.traveller View PostIf you thinking to get zmr (fi one) then double check if its fuel pump is not faulty coz zmr original fuel pump cost 12000/-. So, the battle is between REH or or FZ25 only.

Re: Hero Honda Karizma ZMR
1. You should clean your throttle body.
2. Check / remember if you have old petrol in tank..if so clean tank thoroughly.
3. If Petrol filter is more than 20 K Kms and you fill petrol in not so good petrol stations, due to touring etc., change it
I do hear lot of squeaky noises , which I presume is the sounds of birds near by...If not check Oil circulation to upper cylinder ie., Cam and Rocker area.
Hope this helps,
