im perfectly alright cuz at the time of accident i was riding at 5-10kmph

Glad to know that you are perfectly safe & sound.
These TRUCKS & TAXIS are menace too Indian Roads.
PSR & MZEE,Originally posted by psr View PostGood to know you are ok..if you can do DIY then get the fiber glass repair kit, remove the fairing and reconstruct the broken piece, and repaint it...Just ask HH if they can do it and the cost of it...Unless the DIY or HH cost is less than 50% of replacement cost it will not be worth it.
After my accident few months ago, I learned one thing that at times some broken parts are externally visible but the damage is more internal and some screws get loosened.
Hope it is nothing like that but must check @ SVC.
In my case the ODOMETER stay had to be changed but it was seemingly OK from outside.
LUVURBIKE,Originally posted by luvurbike View PostThanks for your valuable advice guys highly appreciate but sorry didn't get time to checkout replies... Anyways just returned from 2 days 952 km trip... It was an awesome experience and ZMR proved itself yet again... took all kinds of bumps (small, big and gigantic with ease)... also those series of speedbrakers near toll booth.. I fly past them @60 kmph... Shockers are just awesome and this was the first time I utilized about 80% of bike potential...
Overtook all kinds of vehicles with ease and mannnn craze for this bike hasn't gone down a bit... Everywhere I stopped to take rest, people were asking about it's price and mileage... Other bikers were turning their heads to get a glimpse of my bike...
The bike is perfectly tailor made for touring with all it's great power, superior handling and comfortable ergonomics... Fan of this sturdy machine...
Negatives - 1) After 250 kms, the seat appeared to be quite hard on my bums
2) Now almost everybody knows this, the lighting is not adequate and those damn stupid truckists were real pain in the ass. They were driving at low beam all the way but when they saw any vehicle they put it on high beam...
I really wished I had HID so I could teach them a lesson
A point to be careful on highways: Trucks have so less acceleration that they take almost half a kilometer to overtake another truck and while doing this, they occupy almost all the width of road. So whenever you see a truck overtaking decrease your speed coz you might have to go down the road to cross them...
Happy Riding Guys..
Fly Safe
@ Sunil - Chopper se Goa chalenge... ;-)
Congrats that you have returned safe and happy.
Overtaking of Trucks is one of the biggest challenge on HighRoads, faced it too. Change HEADLAMP to OSRAM Nightbreaker @ least. Will serve the purpose.
Please check few threads earlier regarding my accident claim.
Spent around Rs 15,619/- and Insurance Approval was Rs 7,430/- but some parts were changed from my end.Last edited by satyajitrc; 05-09-2011, 12:05 PM.34567 kms and ZMR sold :(

Starting problem in ZMR
My bike is just a year old. While pressing the self-start switch, the display unit goes blank and resets (time sets to 1:00 AM and trip sets to 0). Sometimes there is a trrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr sound when I press the self-start switch. After a few tries the bike starts up eventually.
Twice I have given it to the hero honda service center chaps and they've just charged the battery and given it back. But since it is only a year old, I don't think the battery could be the problem.
Any clues as to what I can do here? there is serious shortage of good skilled mechanics in Bangalore and the service center guys are morons.
Thanks in advance.
regards,
Farhad.

Nah in service center they remove from bottom only. But u need to lift the bike on ramp and do if u don't want to remove fairing. Else ull need to remove one piece of fairing and drain.Originally posted by Race_Developed View Post@Shreeni : is it a problem draining oil from ZMR due to the fairing.
Was this done @ the service center
Thats bcz the drain bolt is to the side, not bottom
This was done in SHELL.

I think they are directly storing into a used container by a pump..Originally posted by Shreeni0403 View PostGot Shell SS oil 10w40. Need to see how good it is.
Btw it was a new way of draining oil, I had not saw it earlier.
Sucking oil from top
Here is the snap.
There is no issue of oil change in ZMR..it can be done easily without removing a fairing...Originally posted by Race_Developed View Post@Shreeni : is it a problem draining oil from ZMR due to the fairing.
