Note: HID in conventional headlight is not recommended as it blinds oncoming traffic. Conventional headlights are designed for halogen bulbs that has a thin filament as its source of light. The lights are reflected on the reflector at specific angles and throw it on the road. HID on other hand has its light source emitted from an arc chamber that is quite big compare to filament, so the reflection will not follow the exact pattern of a filament. Hence a lot of lights are dispersed that blinds oncoming traffic. It performs best in projector type headlights. I am using projectors.

Thats right. Just a small correction. Its not HID perse. Its because of the colour temperature. Most shops sells only 6000k bulbs. Somewhere around 3500k-4200k will be ideal. This will bring the colour closer to halogen (yellowish). I have used 80 watts Halogen at 6000k as well (in my car). I could barely see the light. Currently I'm using 6000k HID. Much better than the halogen, though still sucks in rain. Searching for 4200k bulb now. The higher the temperature the lousier it performs, especially as you said.. in rain.Originally posted by psr View Post

Yes true but how many users know of this and we have many China make HIDs which are above 5k kelvin....and every user is looking for cheaper HIDs..obviously Chinese..obviously above 5 K...and most users put a HID in the normal reflector set up...Cheap HID also emits high levels of UV....
Unlike the Halogen the HID is from a perpetual arc taking place in Metalic Salt/ Xenon, and so it is a non-continuous light. So scattering it is easy.
The best alternate is a Philips xtreme Halogen.

kaynmantis & psr thanks for detailing out about HID. It will really helpful to decide hid temp.
By the way i wanted to get 1 pair from these 3 products
$11.90 - T10 3W 6000K 264-Lumen 44x3020 SMD LED Car White Light Bulbs (Pair/DC 12V) - Car LED Light Bulbs
$11.80 - T10 3W 12V 304-Lumen 38x3020 SMD LED Car White Light Bulb (Pair) - Car LED Light Bulbs
$6.54 - T10 1.9W 6500K 171-Lumen 38-SMD LED Car White Light Bulbs (Pair/DC 12V) - Car LED Light Bulbs
Are they will fit in ZMR ? i am worried about there length ! is it gonna touch the reflector glass (plastic front cover) .
And i want a little bluish one which i think around 6000k but in any of these i can't figure out which one is that ! Can anyone help

try to get 9 or 12 smd ones wich will be less in length and fit inside the reflector without touching the front glass.Blue color is banned and can be booked under law. When Was The Last Time,You Did Something For The First Time.

Philips Vision LED W5W T10 4000K
Philips Blue Vision LED W5W T10 6000K
I have the led T10 4000k on my bike and I'm satisfied with the color temperature and the brightness is unbelievable.
The second one will have a tinge of Blue however, I did not opt since it would not match my headlight.
These are expensive but worth!
I'll not go for any unnamed Chinese products anymore.

Hi Friends!
Its been close to 2 months since I've been to Xbhp as office work kept me jam - packed
But took my day off from office yesterday and read all the comments posted in our group...
Really useful & highly technical information abt ZMR which almost half of the guys in SVC doesn't know abt the vehicle

PSR & SriramEfunds you both rock!!! Really wish to join ur training classes (If taught)

Feel really elated to be part of this group..Faster, faster, faster, until the thrill of speed overcomes the fear of death ~ Hunter Thompson.

I'm planning to change my bike's headlights to 55/60 W 12 V Halogen bulb,
But SVC guys say that it will drain the battery & cause starting problems..
I'm really confused about it.. Kindly share your thoughts about it...
I enquired from a bike accesories shop and he showed me an Osram bulb which read as '55/60 W H4 P.R.C.U 12 V' and he demanded Rs.170 for it..
Is it worth buying or can I buy the halogen used for M800/Alto???Faster, faster, faster, until the thrill of speed overcomes the fear of death ~ Hunter Thompson.

The Alternator capacity of ZMA is 188 watts and at 12 Volts it is =15 amps.Originally posted by The Ghost Rider_Surendar View PostI'm planning to change my bike's headlights to 55/60 W 12 V Halogen bulb,

The Alternator capacity of ZMR is 238 watts and at 12 volts it is =19.83 amps.
The battery is there for self start, and for headlight and brake light supply ..at idle RPM....
IN ZMR battery is essential for the fuel pump to start working before the bike can be started.
50/60 Halogen will not tax the battery or electricals of both bikes...When Was The Last Time,You Did Something For The First Time.
