Thanks pal....i was really worried about the gears....now i feel safe and will wait for another couple of months. How can one tell if the bike's engine is set. Will there be a change in sound or smoothness or something like that.

The normal KID kit comes ready for DC only..however if you have a rectifier unit, then the whole unit can be driven by AC...The supplier says both kits are available ,so choose the DC version which is easy to fit as DC is already available in ZMR.
HID lights are good only for dry non humid and clear nights. If you have rain. fog etc., the light will scatter and you will find it difficult to see in the night..
So consider Halogen light of Philips Extreme 50/60 Watts..it is not only brighter, but can give good penetrating beam in the night which is very important.

Ji , what is a need of relay in this kit ? Normally HID kit consists of bulb & ballast. No relay i found ! So what a relay is doing in this ? I am asking cause all things are dual except relay , so is we can install them in 2 bikes ? or need another relay to get the hid in 2nd bike as there is 1 already with package.

Thanks psr i overlooked that point.. I'll order dc kit..
As for the the foggy or rainy conditions, I think it does not depend on halogen bulb or HID.. It depends on the color temperature... Yellow having the best penetrating power that comes in 3000 kelvin HID and used as fog lights in vehicles.. Penetrating power decreases as we go higher in color temperature... Correct me if i'm wrong...
I've weighted 5000k as the best compromise b/w white light (looks) and rainy conditions (personal opinion).. So going for 5000k...

If they have listed it as a kit then they'll supply whole kit... Ballast will be of 55W as the whole kit is 55W... Relay is necessary for protection of switches... Though many are successfully using 55W bulbs but still better to use them with relay...
Yaar they have not provided list of items they'll provide.. From pics we should'nt make out that they'll provide single relay... But I'll ask this thing before making the deal...

In any automobile application whenever you switch High current devises the normal practice is to use a relay to relieve the normal switch from the strain of switching high currents. The HID consumes 3 Amps for a 35 watts unit, AFTER it had started...HIDs are devices wherein there is a high starting current ,as high as 8 to 10 Amps, for a short duration and then becomes low....for this reason, a relay is normally used to safe guard the headlight switch, which may not be able to SAFELY handle this current Repeatedly.

Since you had indicated 5 k Kelvin color temperature, I had expressed the fog and rain problem. Any light source above 4.3 K Kelvin will face this problem.

Keep your bike under 4k rpm and 40km/h till 500kms,avoid sudden accelerations, overtakings, and riding with pillion, etc.

As your bike is new, gears will be hard,It will get smooth after 3 or 4 services. Nothing to worry,Its common on most new bikes.

Its hard to keep these bikes under 50 man! Ride @ 40km/h till 500kms, after that vary your speed from 40-70km/h and try to keep your rpm with in 4-4.5k.
Do next oil change @ 500kms and then @ 1000kms.

Didnt heard of this before. Never mind bro,Follow these instructions ,you engine will be safe in your chassis. If you want to ensure maximum life and mileage,Ride under 80/h till 2000kms.

My ZMR's iffko tokyo insurance has expired a month back. I want to insure my bike. Can you guys suggest me which insurance company to go for? Which company is giving the maximum %age on plastic parts??
If anyone gets time from the 'HID' discussions, plz answer!
From variable Bhps to a constant 17.6 Bhp.

I have asked many insurance companies like bajaj allianz, icici lombard, oriental insurace for insuring my new bike every one told that i would be getting 50% for the fiber or plastic parts.Only iffco tokyo at the bike dealer told offered 90% on fiber parts but the insurance was 850 rs costlier than normal one.I went for bajaj allianz which costed me 2000 for 97000/- valued bike and offers only 50% on plastics or fiber

Both of you I will suggest to go with that Insurance Company which the respective Showroom & SVC endorses.

Technically u can do from anywhere but in case of accidents etc. onus is yours.
Frankly I was also willing to renew my Own Policy from somewhere but a very close friend of mine is in the General Insurance industry for more than 10 years. He suggested me not to do so.
Moreover after the accident entire pain and hassle was taken from SVC and they ensured I got maximum benefit.

Regarding the Percentage on Plastics AFAIK there is a column for ND Cover.
The insurance paid under this should have more coverage, my earlier ICICI Lombard Policy did not mention that.
Mostly it started from July-2010 and as per IRDA Rules everyone must have it but can be expensive.

Since my SCAN is very light will upload a close up shot later.
34567 kms and ZMR sold :(

+1 for satyajit..... Yes after all SVC is best way for claiming insurance incase of any bad happened. And the guys @ SVC knows what part exactly need to be claimed & helps us to get maximum benifit.
So go to insurance company @ your SVC
