White smoke is not a good sign.
But that hole is provided to drain out water which could have got into the pipe. But, are you sure its oil dripping?

White smoke could also mean fuel mixed with oil.. i used to get white smoke some times but very little and it disappears.. especially during winter...

Am not exactly sure if oil is mixed in the wAter which comes out of that hole. Why I doubted it was cause of the black substance which comes out, mixed with the water.

Do you have the chain guard fixed?? if no.. was the chain lubricated?? if yes, i have a feeling that it is heavily oiled.. which might in turn spill on the silencer causing that smell..

I am loving the threading on the tires.. how much did you cost you again?? 2300?? is it worth it?? I will be changing the tires before the next tour...

Chain guard is fixed. Shall get a clearer picture tomorrow when I take the bike to college.

Grip levels are fine. Keep in mind, its a TT tire.

errr.. I am using Michelin as TL and it is a TT.. I know the risks..

do you have any other brand in mind which offers good TL within the range of 2500?? adding 700 will get me a PSD, but is it worth for touring purposes?? of course mostly on highways.. but being a soft compound.. it is prone to punctures, right?

My ZMR status yesterday evening mechanic confirm that fuel pump is faulty...jerking is occurring due to this only......bike is not in warranty.....had to shell all repair (parts) cost of more then 10K....

Yes, people say its puncture prone, but I got one after 20k kms only. You may not be so lucky. Its good till 12-14k kms though.

Tough luck bro. Try getting the carbon bushes replaced as mentioned by [MENTION=32286]psr[/MENTION] sir in the past. It would hardly cost you few hundreds at max and would save you from replacing the whole pump.

Sorry mate, I meant Carbon Brushes. It was a typo.

Its a component within the pump. You can see similar connections in old Mixer Grinders. These things require periodic replacement.

Any other suggestions mate??

thats the problem with 18" wheels.. we don't have many tire options

for TL it is even less
