  • Hi guys, Joined xbhp just 5 mins back.. well i am planning to buy a black p135 this sunday.. thts why i wanted to ask a few questions... 1. Although i know that this will be a showroom bike, is there a way to find the best bike among the lot? I mean what are the checks to be performed.. 2. What should be the idle rpm of the bike? 3. is there anything that the showroom guys may tend to hide or may refuse to give in the included cost? 4. What is the ideal speed or rpm to be maintained for the run in period?

    • Hey guys,

      one more question

can i go for a pair of tubeless tyres from the showroom itself? i mean is there an option of doing so(like paying the remaining price after deducting the cost of the present tyres)

By the way they are zappers right?? not eurogrip??

And which is the best engine oil for this machine?? Is it MOTUL GT Plus 15W50??

No replies yet friends... eagerly waiting... cant wait to put my hands on the bike...

      • Where has everyone gone?? Hello!! Anybody there??

I want to share my story with you all..

I am from bhilai in chhattisgarh.. I have just completed my engineering and have come back home to spend a couple of months before my joining letter arrives..

Meanwhile my father's '86 model vespa is giving him some trouble(finally).. i must tell u that he has kept the scooter as his darling.. and it still gives a decent mileage.. But i think my father finally understood that time has come he bought a new bike..

Here i come into picture.. as his personal advisor.. As we were taking it for my father basically, it had to be a commuter segment bike.. I had told him that if i was there i would never let him buy bikes like passion pro or super splendour.. frankly i have never had any liking for HH bikes.. although i know that they give decent quality and after sales service.. but somehow i find their products absurd.. they even spoil the good ones..(except hunk which i respect).. So we zeroed into CB Twister.. It was clearly the best product in that segment.. we even went to the showroom to get a test ride..

After a few days my father asked me about a bike he had seen in the market.. He said it was a pulsar ...125 cc pulsar.. i understood at that vry moment that it had to be the p135ls.. he liked the looks so much that we went for the test ride that very day..

what it meant was that i was getting a chance to pursue my father to jump to the next segment.. i could not waste this chance.. i started pursuing my father for it.. Such were the looks of this machine that the twister was not even coming into my mind.. and everything at almost the same price..

But there were some fors and againsts

        For p135ls

        1. looks 2. more power 3.features(attention to detail) 4.decent mileage 5. almost same price as that of twister

        For Twister

        1. Honda reliability 2. honda refinement 3. more mileage 4. a strange but valid point. my father is just 5' 4" high. so his feet were able to land better in this bike than the pulsar( i somehow managed by saying that it will come by practice)

Having known seen and tested pulsar there was no way i was going to go back.. So we are finally going for a black 135ls on Sunday most probably..

Actually i have a plan of taking this bike with me after a couple of years...

And yes before i end one question.. Is it difficult for ladies to sit as pillions.. My mom has been bugging me with this question.... I have feeling that the seat may tend to flatten when the pillion sits.. So it might not be as uncomfortable as it looks...

Please do reply.. i have been waiting for replies for quite some time now...

        Thanks in advance!!!

Idle RPM should be around 1500
Speed for run in period - 4/5k RPM (60km).
Go to tyre dealer, he will swap your tyres + some cash for zappers, Yes zappers.
Valvoline 4T Premium 20w50 (My local Bajaj SVC use this) is very good VFM oil much better than Castrol etc, Motul is best but expensive. Dont experiment anything for 1st 1500KM.
Pillion seat for ladies is okay for short rides.

Go for regular short interval services regardless of what manual recommends, maintain tyre air pressure and lube chain in monsoons, Wax your bike with Formula 1 Carnauba wax.

          Congrats man.

I thought this thread was dead..

A few more ques to ask...

Hey!! for the first time, does the engine oil come filled directly from the company or do they fill it at the showroom??

i heard the run in period speed should be around 45 kms/hr??

Any idea how much will the tyres cost me after exchange??

And also i heard that valvoline engine oils are not that good.. is it true??

what should be a good chain lubricant?? what should be the frequency??

I was thinking of getting a teflon coating. so that way is wax required..

The showroom guys told me that seatcover + handlecover + teflon coating will cost around 700 rs... is the price fair?? I dont need the seat cover or the handlecover.. so how much will a teflon coating coat cost me??

Should be near to that, but keep it varying.

I also had a similar issue.problem was in the chain lock. Changing it only cost me Rs80(SLR).

                    • Hey guys!! I'm getting a strange clicking noise form the right lower end of my engine(the gear box side).... It's not present always, only when I give a throttle or when the bike goes through a pot hole... My bike has just completed 2500km & noticed this prob yesterday morning... Got the bike serviced just few days back... Could anyone tell me what this could be... Is it serious????

                        • Hi Guys!!

My black beauty has come finally.. 61,080 on road... including teflon, seat covers, grip covers...

Very happy.. Smooth gear shifts... Fallen in love with it...

But one problem guys.. The engine is getting heated up pretty soon...
The showroom guys have put a front mud guard which has been screwed to the front leg guard.. Is this provided by the company itself??

I am asking this because the manual says not to put any mud protection sheet from front...

                          Should i remove it??

The company does not provide it better remove it. Dont rev the engine till 500kays and yes once you are done with 500 kays move to motul 5100 or 7100 engine oil. CONGRATS ON YOUR NEW MACHINE

                            • Is it normal for a new engine to heat up?? And can that mud protection sheet be playing a major role in it??

Why i am stressing on this is because it is raining pretty heavy nowadays.. So i was thinking of removing it as soon as the monsoons end.. But if it really harms the engine in any way i will remove it as soon as possible..

                              Please advise..

                              • Guys one more problem..

Although i don't have experience of a disk brake before, but i could understand something was wrong with mt front wheel.. When i tried to move it, it did not move freely.. There was some kind of sound and i felt it to be coming from the disc..
I guess the disc brake is a little tight..

                                Is my guess right??

                                Please advise..
