I shall upgrade to the ONB's after a little longer of your usage report, maybe another tour by you. That should tell its effect in the long term.

But, you know what, it won't be too difficult to actually drill holes on the holder!

    • Today I saw a security system named Xenos firewall 45.. I asked the shopkeeper that howz it and will it void the warranty if I get it fitted on my 220.. He told that therez no question of warranty as the system gets directly connected to the battery and there are no cuts required in the wiring.. what say guys??

        Not sure its required Yaar..
I had used these bulbs in my Hampi trip. Rode with headlights ON for around 2 hrs in the morning of day one AND for almost 6 hrs (6:30 PM to 12:30 AM) on day two night. Its super simple to overtake cars at night if they don't give you way..just put on high beam at stay behind the side rear view mirror !! they will either give way or change the position of the rear view mirror(which is what Kriss had to do when i was purposefuly staying behind him with high beam ON at night )

An external connection to the battery would be kindda risky and if you bike has an electrical problem for any reason what so ever, they(bajaj) will conveniently put the blame on the 'aftermarket security system'. And not give warranty cover...

          Its a risk no doubt!

@Ravi: Thats nice to hear....but I will still wait another month or two for your reports then!

My baby has been spared by these sticker Stealers so far. I have al the stickers in tact from past 13 months. May be the reason is - i am more out of Hyderabad touring than in Hyderabad.
And ppl in places we tour might not be knowing these things come off so easily !!

I have been using Osram Night Breakers in my 220 from a month now. I would recommend them to you all. These come as a direct fit for the stock bulbs for 220.
            Osram Night Breakers......H7.......55w !
Make sure you check the H7..thats the one which fits into our 220's headlight mount and connector.
Same wattage, so no electrical issues either.
The reflectors and lens are good till now... have rode for about 1 k kms at night so far since a month.
I had got a pair for 1300/- from Bangalore.
I am using one each in high beam & low beam
The brightness of LOW beam is amazing !!
And the HIGH beam reach is too far......can happily ride at 130 at night also..if the road conditions permit.

this is quite surprising. You got them for only 1300??? Damn, then I think I got ripped off, I shelled out the MRP for it. Was around 19xx or something.

Another surprising thing is that I noticed very subtle difference in the beams, both high and low. I feel it is not worth the money, and you would be better off putting HID. The beam does reach a bit further..but not at all what I expected. Praful, do have a look before buying them.

EDIT: I have been using the NB's for around a month now for almost every night, there have been no issues of discoloration, cracking or such. I do not use High Beam in city mostly anyways, as it tends to blind the oncoming traffic.

Doing any modifications on the electrical system of p220 is something i am strongly against.
The shopkeeper might be just trying to sell his product unless you know him personally.
The battery capacity is decided on the load the bike's electrical is putting on it. trust me, 220's electricas are already putting a lot of load on its batteries.

Praful >> 1 K Kms at night is pretty good i guess.
but, i would also suggest you to wait, i will be trying them on the new headlamp assembly soon.

Ok, need to see your headlights vis-a-vis mine! Need to check if there is any discoloration at all or not.

Im still jumping between HID'ing (risky) and ONB (less risky) for my bike!

Well, for me, ONB = hardly anything brighter than stock. I think its better you wait for a safely tried-tested HID.

I know a guy who's running a ebay HID on his 220 without a hitch for a more than 8-10 months now. But then his bike is sorrta one of a kind problem free 220 too!

Bi-Xenon? How much did he pay for it. I think its more about trusting who fits the HID system. Because, our battery, technically, should be able to handle it. But then thas just technically,.....

Wait till u sample me and my R15 and then u will understand what exactly is meant by hell on higwhays!!!!

On a serious note, since a 220 uses both projectors and halogen, I would suggest getting a HID for the lo-beam projector and a 55/60 ONB for the hi-beam. Gives u best of both worlds. And since the HID is inside the projector as it's meant to be used u will get amazing beam spread and lighting. If u are of the adventurous type, I have a spare 100/90 bulb which I can spare for ur trials(for hi-beam)!!

In actual, I think its better coz VYDE is soft compond. Rohit P200 owner is also using the same. He has also felt the difference. How much did it cost you?
