  • @ Motormania,

Yep bro, I have heard quite a lot about Sirac... it seems for touring (especially when there is a bit of off roading as well) its a very good tyre.. will certainly put them on for my trips to the mountains..

I ride with "Tippy Toes" due to my compact size.. and since the Sirac would add a couple of milimeters to the seat height, for city rides I would prefer the "Vyde".

    • yes the sirac performs fantastic for off roading...myself did a 130-140 km ride to get a feel of th tyre n it definetly put a smile on my face as i also got to test the braking...had to do 2 emergency braking and the change was felt immediately....

n i totally forgot bout the seat height factor
You can take the ride away from me but you cannot take the rider out of my soul.........

      • Good Job !!

Pranay & Payeng - thanks for taking the pain of finding & posting the details in the first page, job well done.

I have a front tyre matching SIRAC's braking !!! it doesn't look SIRAC's kid as well

IRC Wild Flare it is !!
It comes in 90/90R17 & 100/90R17....i couldn't find the 100 one so took 90/90.... my fellow xBhpian's here in Hyderabad call it as a Saree Tyre, because of its thread pattern...but thanks to the saree design, i am able to caress the curves on the road as a saree would caress the curves on the body

        Here is the thread pattern.

Though it is of the same size as stock - it results in a speedo error of around 2 KMPH - Speedo shows less than the actual speed.
        It is Tubeless also.

                  • Need help from Mumbai guys. I contacted Planet DSG and they said 5100 4T 15W50 has been discontinued or they've stopped stocking it. Since my mom is currently in Mumbai, I can get the oil picked up from there if easily available. Need input from local guys and addresses where it's available.

                    Thanks!

The only person who could bail you out would be chetanpulsar.

Stretch I tried was on DND expressway which is I think 3 kms long. Why I am not able to touch more, any idea??? Because of my weight?

Any bike will reach its topspeed irrespective of the weight its carrying. With a heavier weight it will just take longer.

But topspeed is affected by many variables, one of the biggest factors being wind resistance and direction of wind. This affects your topspeed greatly. Try taking the same highway stretch without the bag on a early morning when there is relatively lesser wind.

This is just one of the variables affecting topspeed, for the 220 specifically the fuel filter also is another major variable.

Tyre pressure, state of tune, ambient temperature/humidity,quality of fuel, lubing of drive chain are some of the other variable that affect topspeed, and acceleration also!
