  • Guys, let's carry on the topic .. P220!

Can U still say the Bike is Unreliable???
Dude, nobody will say it is unreliable... Bajaj are improving over many issues. Problems being that:

    1. with every update new problems occur.
    2. Company has produced a great bike, but Service Centres mess it up ...

That's it. P220 is reliable! Mostly ... Even other Pulsars are good enough...

        The PBKS are not bad.
Th people who are working there - at least some of them are very Talented.
The problem is the company does not have enough number of people to service the vehicles.
So Lack of time for the Mechanics is a major problem.

We have the AS in Banglore with Mr.Venkat a very good PBK.
We have Two PBKs in HYD both have 2 outstanding people Arif & Mr.Nandan.

All we need to do is to make them take time for your BIKE.

I achieve this by going to Mr.Nandan on Saturday late afternoon to get any minor issues fixed.
Most of the times I will be there till he closes the SC.

Service or Major things on Sundays - which is a HOLIDAY for them by Arif.

These three people are very committed people who can get back the Service levels to a new High.

Even Ravikiran gets his Vehicle serviced by Arif on sat or sometimes Sunday.

Patience is what we require to get the best out of these people & in turn they are ready to go completely out of their way to get the things set perfectly for us.

        This is my Personal experience.

Yes even I do have to escalate things higher when things were not done - read as lack of spares, etc., but these people again made the difference.

However while going to the ladakh trip - I visited Chandigarh, Srinagar & Amritsar PBKs which also provided good service to me.
I was referred to them by the regional heads of PBKs.

But again all this is personal Experience.

I have left my bike at the service center for service/de-carb/minor issue rectification et all for any where from 3-10 days. Why? Just so that they need not hurry up and fix up the bike nice and proper in 'their sweet time'.

          What did I get? Zilch!

I still have two issues that have been pestering me for quite a while now, one of them being there for 25K+ kms now....

The P220 is very reliable, till the time you face a prob with it <my bike has given up on me 4 times (totally dead i.e.), thrice in the middle of a highway, and thrice due to electrical probs.....But I still tour, don't know if I'm brave or stupid though!!!>! Only time will tell...

This is like me talking of my Gladiator. Your P220 and my Gladiator seem to have been relatives before they reached us.

              • I rode a P180 from '03 to '06 and except for starter giving away there never seemed to be a problem. I mean actually there never was. But the newer ones... I am currently riding the R15 and the service is damn good even the mech is good and knowledgeable. The zma rattled pretty early compared to R15.

U need to get them work in front of U.

                  I'm a Mechanical Engineer.
I took the stream as I like the Automobiles field.

I can dismantle the bike if required so what I do is I sit with them to get my Beast work the way it is intended to.

I'm not saying that the PBKs are good for every1.
Even for me initially it took some time to get the things rolling in the right way.
My suggestion is try to get the things worked in the right way.

As I mentioned I was forced to escalate to the regional heads & at a point in the first month I really got Fed up with their service.
Then in Orkut I Met with Mr.Venkat of AS Banglore.
I checked out the solutions for things before I went to PBK.
then I realised most of the issues with it are minor which are getting worse due to the negligence of the SC.
So Solution - Get it fixed in the first instance.

Yes to a certain level as Praful Points out I did not have any Major issues & I don't use the Bike for Commuting.
                  Only for Rides.
Out of the 13k kms 4k was in Ladakh, another 5k in different rides.
out of the remaining 4k I can say I went to PBK atleast for 1k.
The SC is 22km away from my home.
I Used to visit the SC every weekend to get the small niggling issues fixed.
Now I don have any issues which can blow things out of place any day.

Sorry if I sounded like saying that the Service is Top notch.
                  I never meant that way.
Since I'm an engineer it was easy for me.
But for a normal office going guy spending half of the weekend to get things fixed every other week is a big hassle.

That's the point mate. And, there's no point blaming Bajaj (alone). In fact, I believe PBK SC's are doing a fairly decent job. the scene is not any better at most other service centers.

if you are getting good service or at least good response & are valued somewhere, please consider yourself lucky and try your best not to loose the respect & response.

Yeah Finally got some time for this also.

The rear tire is good for another 2-3k kms.
Looking at the FZ-16 Rear Rubber or the IRC 130/70.
I want a lower profile which is not avail in Bridge stone/Michelin as rear fitment.
The ones avail here are front fitments being used for the rear Tire.

Some users are already using the FZ-16 Rear Rubber or the IRC 130/70.

Can I get the Feedback for these??
