There is a problem with the spring in the clutch cable. You can replace it under warranty at the nearest PBK.

Do replace it as soon as possible. There is a chance your clutch plates will wear out faster.

I cannot think of anything else that is making your clutch remain depressed. Check the whole length of the cable starting from the handlebar if anything is hindering its movement.

I think maybe dipping it in kerosene for long periods of time might lead to kerosene seeping through and damaging the impregnated lubricant inside the O Rings.

If you guys want go real deep chemistry. Here you go (at your own risk):
eFunda: O-Ring Materials Compatibile with Chemical Kerosene

Now we just have to find out the chemical composition of the O Rings. LMAO! I think I will stick to Motul. Damn, I have a headache.

            P.S:-
@Rossiter: I have read in a Teezer forum that a 1999 model TZR 250 manual says not to use kerosene to clean the O Rings. Could you confirm this with GS?

Yes, this one is water repellent & dust resistant. No product code it seems. Just the name as mentioned above in quotes. The OKS engineer suggested to stick to 451 chain lube for o-ring chains for personal use and the product in question is only for service centers.

The reason as per him is that this lube needs the chain to be absolutely clean & dry before application and should be applied after a full cleaning in the service center. I am thinking that we can use this product (if it can last long) with an occasional chain cleaning with kerosene!

The 451 however can be used even with some dirt on the chain. Even when we use degreaser all the dirt doesn't go away.

Forgot to ask if this lasts longer than the 451. Also as per the magazine the cost is Rs 220 - whereas the 451's MRP is Rs 370. The text on the 451 can reads - "Adhesive Chain Lubricant Spray" !!!
u may also refer to OKS

                • I Personally Used OKS, Wurth & Motul for the O-ring Chain of 220.
I Found that the OKS 451 & Wurth are almost same in Quality.
But Motul is a completely different League of its own.
U can feel the difference with it.

Petrol is an absolute no. I was told that diesel is more active than kerosine. we use diesel in India as kerosine is not available in free market.

I remember a test we did in our school days. diesel catches fire much easier than kerosine. means diesel is more volatile / active.
bro can u give me complete manual of r1 n hayabusa?

well the clutch problem was faced by me too...but it got solved by pbk guys...dunno is it was spring problem...or a too much hardened lubrication...i dunno...but its fine now...

stuck of clutch wire/lever could be b'coz of 2 major reasons
first is the same one pranay told earlier
and other could be jamming of the cable which carries clutch wire
check out if it is damaged by any means like by getting contact with other components specially hot part of engine or due to lack of lubricity within

                          about service
the PBK guys 'll execute service your bike before/earlier than schedule
but i dont see a point in doing so

BTW why you wanna do so?

you can get addressed the issues with out sacrificing a free service
or you can get in touch with service eng./manager and discuses whether they can provide service in you own town/city

since the distance is just in double digit kms, it is very probable that they'll give you a favor with out any reluctance
