Can anybody educate me on the potential harm , an air filter can cause to the bike in the long run? I own a DTS-FI which has completed 3450 Kms and one of my friend suggested me to go for a K&N RU - 200 Air Filter for better performance. I have heard to quiet a lot of people including my service mechanic that it would riun the cylinder value in the long run. Please advice on this

I am from Bangalore and can anybody suggest me a one-stop-hub where I can pick up sprays to clean my chain, wax pol and other bike accessories? Is Motul 300 V available in all the stores or should we head to certain reputed stores in JC road? Please advice..When you lose, do not lose the lesson.

absolutely right. if the obstruction isnt there why are we getting it cleaned? there is some obstruction to the flow of air-fuel mixture.Originally posted by prafultripathy View PostOk, so let me get this straight, are you trying to say that since the throttle body has deposits there is an obstruction to the flow of the Air-Fuel mixture?
the bajaj recommends the cleaning of throttle body at every 10k kms.Thirdly, did you know Bajaj themselves do not recommend cleaning the throttle body.
and secondly the AFR is a ratio, the rate of flow of the air-fuel mixture will not affect the ratio.yes, if the butterfly valve of the throttle body isnt sticky/dirty, the engine can breathe properly. what i wanted to convey is that when the throttle body is dirty there is obstruction to the flow. over a period of time with regular CO adjustments the AFR has been increased, but the flow is less so we cant notice the drop in mileage although we are having high AFR. but as soon as the throttle body is cleaned, there is no more obstruction to the Air-Fuel Mixture flow. hence the drop in mileage can be noticed immediately with noticeable improvement in throttle response. only for better understanding i called this as effectively increasing AFR.And finally, the throttle body cleaning has nothing to do with AFR. Its cleaning is done so the butterfly valve can open freely and its not 'sticky'.Biking is not my Passion, it is my Religion!

P220 tyre brand change
Hey guys,
Today i was just strolling around college and happened to see a new P220 DTS-i. I just kept gazing at the bike and happened to notice something different, the tyres!! It seems Bajaj has stopped putting MRF Zappers and instead have started using IRC tyres (soft compound as they kept mentioning) on the P220. I spotted the same in another new bike. The tread pattern seemed to be nice. Looks like the first lot of Fastest Indian had the old MRF Zappers. Posting some pics of it.

I had been to the service station and spoke to the executive and they told me the knew tyres are being shipped from thailand and all the P220 DTSi bikes from now on would roll out with these tires. Dont you think Bajaj promised that all the DTS-I versions would come with Soft Compoud tires?Originally posted by chetanpulsar View PostOnly a lot of 1000 P220 DTSi bikes will be equipped with IRC tyres as a promotional complimentary thing from Bajaj. When you lose, do not lose the lesson.

451 is Adhesive Chain LubeOriginally posted by rohitmundra View PostUse OKS 451 spray..much better.

the other one is Chain Lube.
I guess that says it.
Soft compound need not mean it would be IRC. They have got MRF's in soft compound for some bikes. MRF is facing tough time due to a factory lockout and that's possibly why Bajaj had to look out for alternatives and I guess that would be temporary. They wouldn't look at increasing their costs for an under priced product.Originally posted by Chetan25 View PostI had been to the service station and spoke to the executive and they told me the knew tyres are being shipped from thailand and all the P220 DTSi bikes from now on would roll out with these tires.
