      • i weigh 58 kgs and am nt able to take my Pulsar beyond 130, actually it just dosent wanna go beyond the redline. at 6k rpm the bike does 83 to 84 kmph. ok heres some serios problem with my P220, i chkd the oil level today and well as shocking as it can be, theres absoultely no oil i can see through the oil level indicator. Well actually around 10 days back i noticed a lotta oil under the engine and all over the center stand. Welll i knew it was an oil leak. I went to PBK SK turbhe and i told Gopal about it, and what does he do, he without even checkin sprays water under the engine and cleans it all and tells me there aint any oil leak. I told him dude if u clean it up how will u notice the oil. He still sticks to his guns and just refuses to acknowlege the oil leak and, when i insist on checkin he tells me to kepp the bike at the PBK. Well i took an appointment, took a hoilday from office and went there, i cant do this everyday. I left and told him i ll be back for the service. The ODO was at 4175 thn and it reads 4850 now. I have parked my P220 and intend to take my Honda Dio to my office for the next 2 days and give the 220 for servicing on saturday. Bajaj has the worst service i feel and PBK turbhe is yuckkkk. Atleast the Honda guys work even on sundays.

Did you check the oil window after starting the bike? If yes, then please do so with a cold engine and you would know whether the oil is sufficient or not.

Sometimes, after servicing, mechanics do not clean the excess oil from the chain and that drips in the parking area.

PBK at the place that you mentioned has been reported as "ONE OF THE WORST PLACES TO GET A 220 SERVICED". Maybe chetanpulsar can help you with your PBK issue.
Never argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and then beat you with experience.

          • @Vishy: If there's oil all over you centre stand and bottom part of the engine the most likely its excess lube flying off from your chain.

Also like Niranjan mentioned, have you checked the oil level before starting the bike in the morning when on centre stand?

            • @Vishy: Also, do check that the surface in which you are parking your bike at the centre stand is not uneven; an uneven surface will also provide for a wrong engine oil level reading.
              :)

              • well you are partly right the turbhe guys are not good but arnt too bad, if you want absolutely proper service in mmbai you just aint going to get it, it takes a lot to patience to handle the turbhe guys, and a lot of gentle persuation, if you loose oyur temper with these guys they just dont do the job well, trust me i know from experience, have been getting my 220 serviced there for the past 1 and a half years

I guess that was a horrible experience you had at the SK PBK. I know Gopal very well, he gets irritated when very busy and working behind schedule. As mentioned by Niranjan and Praful, that excess oil (leakage) is from your chain (happens with my bike too). Put the bike on main stand on a level road and check the oil level in the window, if its still unvisible, clean the window and check (coz the oil will be black-and it might be full and you might not see the level coz it covers the full window when full... and think theres no oil). If theres no oil the window should look whitish colour ok. Btw... Gopal is pretty experienced and takes nothing for granted.

I guess Pune is pretty far for such a small issue.

I haven't got my bike back.... will be visiting SK PBK to check on the updates. Quoted costs are around 5.5k.

                          • ^Ajinkya - One of my friends had warned me about this before i bought my 200.. apparently there is a sensor which detects if the bike is in neutral. And if this sensor is gone kaput, it doesn't "sense" the neutral position of the gear and hence disables your starter... Get that replaced and you will be good to go.

                              • ok so i should chk the engine oil level with the engine running or with the engine off???? whn the engine is off the oil level is as if the tank is full, and thn whn i start the engine the oil level goes on decreasing until it completely dissapears. I can see the oil level goin down slowly and in say around 30 seconds the oil level dissapears below the glass through which we see the level. Earlier the oil level indicator after the engine is on would come in between the the two indicators and stop there, while nw it just disspears. So wot does this mean. and yah the bike is on center stand. One more thng i would like to know, the chain was lubed on the second service at 2500kms and i chk the oil underneath the engine at 4150 kms and the oil looked like its fresh thick oil. If the oil is from the chain than would it look very fresh n thick even after 1500 kms. And yah one more thng even after all this the indicattor console is nt showing low oil level warning whch its supposed to show i guess. and whn i last filled petrol of 500 Rs (Speed petrol at 48 rs/ litre) at around 4300 kms whn the bike came into reserve, and the bike ran for around 430 kms b4 showing the reserve signal again. so dat means the mileage is quite good even whn am drivin at 100 kmph most of the time. lets see only time will tell hw the bike fares. Till thn fingers crossed.
