  • [QUOTE=prafultripathy;176476]1. Ok, don't bother yourself too much about it. As the problem is fixed. Next time you have a prob, then try and see where exactly is this carbon thing!

    2. That guy has connected the diagnostic tool to set the CO on your bike! Thats what was affecting ur acceleration!

    3. Do Not use that Bardhal thing. Once your bike completes 5K kms, move to better engine oil. That will be all thats needed!

17 eh? Wat about your license bro? I hope you know and understand xBhp does not promote underage riding!!!

Changing the suspension to hard does not increase/decrease anything, it just adjust the spring pre-load. i.e. its compression rate. Basically in simple english, a stiffer spring will compress lesser!

Whats the speed your bike does @ 6K RPM in 5th gear?

    hey prful
    mine 6k speed is 80kmph to 81kmph
I know i'm slow But i'm still ahead of u!!!sigpic

    • ^^ Typically you should be doing about 83kmph +/- 1kmph. You are definitely doing lesser than that, its time to change ur clutch plates.

But its not that you can't ride ur bike...on these clutch plates your bike will run for another 4-5K kms atleast but with a loss in performance!

        • @Durvesh: How old is your P220?

I ask as I see you asking what speeds everyone's P220 is doing at 6k RPMs, and top speed at 9-10k RPMs? Is everything alright mate?
          :)

              Great!

@Praful: Since the clutch plates replacement thing has come up, I was just wondering is there any particular odometer reading that one should take as a 'guide' to get the clutch plates replaced? Or is the speed at a particular RPM the main factor which should be kept in mind.

My Pulsar 180 Classic's first pair of clutch plates were changed after about 48k kms. or so!

              • clutch plates of my pulsar 180 classic were never changed even after 60k+ km
i think it mainly depend on how you ride and how you maintain your bike

Quite true...but on the 220's the clutch plates wear out much sooner than that.

Mostly ppl are changing around the 20-25K mark!

I read it somewhere in Bike India

Thats a speculation, they might or might not have solid info regarding that!

                      • been encountering a funny problm since two days, basically since my last service center trip, where they had removed the fairing to replace the cone set.
basically the bike starts properly in the morning, but after i stop it and reset it by switchng off its ignition and then restarting it the self refuses to start the bike no reaction,i have to push start the thing in the middle of the roadit doeasnt even start even then, and after that if i press the self start it starts up, and the problem is not repeated for the rest of the day, so basically it starts fine when cold, heats up then refuses to start untill i carry out that ritual and then behaves as though nothing ever happened.
wondering if they forgot to re attach wires in the fairing or something

Did I ever mention that if a part on ur 220 is working fine and a new replacement comes for that part.... don't go ahead and get it replaced.... its not that the new part is bad... but then... on a bike like 220 coupled with the kind of service we get... its risky to let those mechanics fiddle with electrical parts of our bikes. One thing gives rise to many other issues on the P220.... and its very irritating when ur starter starts to act wierd.

Hope its a small issue and you get it rectified soon.
