I provides a cleaner combustion (i.e. your engine will have considerably lesser deposits, which also means over a period of time the drop in performance will be lesser as opposed to stock plugs) & it last 3 times as much as stock plugs (i.e. 30K kms).Originally posted by andy.rebels View Post@Praful : Oh thanks praful, i didnt knew that. But there must be some advantage why people fit Iridium spark plugs
PS: Cool stoppie in ur intro thread!

How did you manage that... that's difficult .. .in the way you RIDE
..
was it snapped from middle or broken from the sensor itself ,,

My stupidity. I locked the alloys with the Shocker with helmet lock, 1st time. Forgot, & started riding, the Lock got tangled & in the process snapped the sensorsOriginally posted by dragatmax View PostHow did you manage that... that's difficult .. .in the way you RIDE

Got oil changed today after 210km on odo. Had to explain for 5 mins why I wanted to get the oil changed before 1st service
. Paid 325/- for oil+washing. About 80% of the oil that came out was pristine and looked good enough to remain in the bike, but the last bit had black deposits, which I guess was the engine shards residue, I asked the mech. to let it trickle for 1 min. Now he too agreed it was good to get the oil changed.
@Niranjanvaidya, kept your advice in mind and didn't let them rev the bike
The original oil was golden in color and the new one PBK service center put in from a drum was red in color. I asked the mech. and he said it's Castrol. Anyone can confirm if indeed Castrol 20W50 spec oil is red in color? Also, should I be using any chainspray from now on?

You have taken the first step in ensuring that your P220 runs well in the future.Originally posted by montiez View PostGot oil changed today after 210km on odo. Had to explain for 5 mins why I wanted to get the oil changed before 1st service

I do not know about the Castrol Oils Color but most of these oils range from Golden/Dark Beer Color/Red. If it is PBK, you can be at peace since they wont (I presume) use substandard stuff.Originally posted by montiez View PostThe original oil was golden in color and the new one PBK service center put in from a drum was red in color. You can use the chain spray, not an issue except the price. For the price, it wears out faster and may not be economical. A better way is to use 90 grade oil and always oil it overnite to allow the oil to penetrate. This way, even the splatter on the rear wheel is negligible.Originally posted by montiez View PostAlso, should I be using any chainspray from now on?
OT: you can call me NVOriginally posted by montiez View Post@Niranjanvaidya,Never argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and then beat you with experience.

Thanks NV
One more thing, I've been touching 65-68 for a few seconds and then coming back to 50-60 range during these initial KMs. Most of the time I am doing between 45-55. I do try to vary the speed as much as possible and allow for engine braking. Hope I'm not stressing the engine, the PBK people said not to cross 50.

I had accompanied my friend to PBK service center in Pune and out of curiosity asked him what Engine oil they used. as you mentioned it was Dark red in colour. the Mechanic told me it was Motul - semi syntheticOriginally posted by montiez View PostThe original oil was golden in color and the new one PBK service center put in from a drum was red in color. @NV, montiez: Yup the oil they put in is red in color, but I guess its not 'good', coz the engine is not behaving as it used to earlier on golden color oil or the Motul 300v, the engine bcomes rough even after riding for 12-15kms. Am probably getting back to Motul soon, maybe just nowOriginally posted by niranjanvaidya View PostYou have taken the first step in ensuring that your P220 runs well in the future.

... got my oil delivered just now. But I've paid 320rs for the oil at the PBK
and its run just 100 odd kms... so will probably use it till 1-1.2k and then go in for a change.
But as you pointed out, if the oil is from PBK... its proper stuff... I think otherwise. Lets see....Chetan

I am interested in changing the tires for my Pulsar 220 and needed some information on the same. Do you think the Yamaha FZ16 140 60 tire will be a direct fit to the Pulsar 220 rim as both share the same 17inch size. If possible I would like to change both front and rear tyres of Pulsar to that of Yamaha FZ16 - Please comment. By the way are these tyres available in the market? Don't have information on this

Kailash
