      • I am looking to change over to synthetic oil for my Pulsar 220. Don't know where to look for and hence am firing this message here.

I am interested in the 5w 40 Shell Ultra Helix. Has anyone used this before and do you think it is good to use in 220. I have already done 8500+ kms in my Pulsar.

        Need your expert comments.

        Regards,
        Kailash

        • The new 220s have a different front mud-guard. Mine shoots water whenever there is some water on road. NV's[Niranjan] bike most probably does not!

Yes, I think you are right...on the ride to Mahableshwar, Ritwik's 200 was all splattered with muck...all over...
My 220 remained a lot better. Will try to post snaps...

Newer as in the ones that came Dec'07 onwards had this attachment at the end of the mud guard that stops muck from being thrown towards the engine.

Mine is a Nov'07 one and din't have one, got it fixed as soon as this came....its VERY useful.

                Hi Kailash,

                Oil recomended for 220 is 20w50 so 5w40 is a strict NO-NO.
U can go for Motul Fully Synthetic FL.

Can someone post the pic of new mud guard ?
Aprilia RS 125 or Honda CB400 Vtec ..... which one will it be ??? I think its gonna be NINJA ZX 6R :-)

Dont know much about how much it will last...but last I sprayed on, the ODO reading was 2K. It was 2.3K when we started to Mahableshwar and I wanted the chain to be clean and proper before that...so I repeated the treatment.
I will observe this time and see how long it is effective.

Where can I get Motul Fully Synthetic Oil in Mulund or nearby, can you please help me with this. Also what is the price for this oil and should I do an engine flush before a change over.

If engine flush is required then tell me which brand of engine flush to use. I currently use OWS engine flush for my cars and hence I still have one of the bottle with me. Is that good enough for the bike too?

                          Regards,

                              • Help

Any other rear shocks can be fixed on 220? I guess its time for me to change the current ones.. I just wanted to know if there is any better option than the stock one.. Stock ones(when it was new) bounce a lot and also I found it too hard for pillion.. Now the things are worse..

Any other bike's grab rail can be fitted on a 220? I mean a useful one other than 150/180 one. I really liked the one in Flame, anyone can check out and let me know if it can be put??

Also will have to change the tires.. Is there any 110/90 dual purpose tubeless tire available?? If not I have to settle with Sirac or VYOE.. Also any 90/90 dual purpose tubeless tire in anyone’s knowledge??
