Thanks for the clarification...BTW...did you read about the oil strainer and centrifugal oil filer?
I feel that this is one of the most important "to-dos" for better engine life.
Never argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and then beat you with experience.

          I meant that :
"Just 2.5K done on the odo and he has started pulling her to around 7-7.5 K rpm needle, and you are talking of waiting till 5th service.."

Well you are still not getting it....

Restraining/Controlling/Stopping one self from pulling hard is not matter of consideration. Engine character change after completion of 10K kms.

Heck I was touring on the bike when it was 300kms old, does not matter.....Get it???

clutch plates , chain sprockets change is very early at 10.5 k . 22k for clutch plates , 17-18k for chain-sprocket is ideal.

Spark plug change @ 10k is a part of service.

                    • My bike has done 11000 km but have never gone beyond 118/120 km/hr(single rider 72 kg) what could be the problem? I must say the acceleration is very good and it reaches on those speeds really fast but dats all it stays there.

                      1)Have done Runing in properly
                      2)Using Motul 15w50 with NGK's scince 5000km
3)Repeatdly co tuning has been done but till no result.
4)In every service have changed the airfilter.
5)Changed the D-clutch switch with solinoid
The service centre guys have no idea how to solve the problem !!! plz help

ps- No speedo error cause other 220's can overtake me easily while am on my top speed.

Oil filter change info was given by Niranjan a few pages back.

Clutch plate change is usage dependent. Ride your bike on 5th gear @ 6K RPM. If its doing 83 Kmph at exactly 6K RPM, your clutch plates are fine. If its showing a lower speed your clutch plates are slipping and you need to get them changed. Clutch plates can go anywhere from 5K to 40K, its all use dependent. Mine were starting to show signs of wear at 20K, so got it changed.

Spark Plugs need to be changed every 10K kms if you are using the stock Champion plugs. NGK Iridiums are good for 30K kms.

Chain Sprocket is again usage dependent. Check the bolt for the rear axle, if its in the last position it needs to changed. Last position would be where it moved closest to the engine. This too can go anywhere from 5-30K kms. Mine lasted 20K, maintenance also plays an important role in the life of the chain sprocket. I din't maintain my chain towards the end of its life, otherwise it would have easily gone 5-6K more.

Air filter this needs to be changed only every 10K kms and need to be cleaned depending on your riding conditions. Otherwise a cleaning job every service is Ok.

Fuel Filter this needs to go much sooner, manual recommends 5K kms. But I feel it lasts a lot lesser than that once your orignal fuel filter is changed. Ideally change it every service, i.e. every 2.5-3K kms.

Does the RPM get stuck at a certain place and not go above that? On how long a stretch of road did you try that?

Topspeed is dependent on a multitude of factors like, fuel, fuel filter, air filter, tyre pressure, chain sprocket condition, ambient climate, wind conditions, road conditions, tyre wear, etc etc.

And don't change your air filter every service, refer to above post for change intervals.

Edit: Ideally without crouching you should manage 125, which is what I can do and I weigh 80. If its accelerating well, you are either running out of road or you need to get the tuning done properly. Is the bike feeling choked around 8K rpm?

Even i have this problem. My 220 does 93kmph @ 7k rpm and 120kmph @9k rpm. Sometimes it will get stuck there no matter how much you try or will go upto 125kmph max. Acceleration is fine. Even my avg. is not normal, around 28-30kmpl with sane riding. PBK guys do not have any answer for this.Have changed fuel filter, checked co%, lubed the chain with OKS chain-spray, even increased tyre pressure to 30 and 32psi and checked, but the result is same.So living with it since my 1st service.Where is MG......

Are you sure it was the engine malfunction light? No offense but some people confuse the over-rev indicator with the engine malfunction light, so just confirming.

Did the bike switch off after the indicator came on?

And if it really is the engine malfunction light, then you need to head to your nearest PBK and tell them about it. They will plug in the diagnostic tool and check which sensor triggered it.
