• Re: Pulsar 220 DTS-Fi

when spoken to the service guy he said that the Throttle Body need to be replaced that is why the malfunction light is on i am not sure what this is ?

I am planning to instead of getting it fixed better sell it and buy the Dtsi model what would you recommend should i get it converted or just use it as it is

and could you tell where do you get it serviced ? is there any place to get it converted to Carb from FI.

Can't really say about the "Grrr" noise unless there is more information about its source/intensity/timing/etc.

The service center themselves can do the conversion to Carb. 6K is about the cost it would take.

He's right that no local mech can tune the Fi, but other engine work is like any other bike, no rocket science in that. My Fi has done 1L+ kms, and I service my bike with a local mech.

Most bikes leak with 300V, some don't. There is no straightforward answer to this. Mine din't leak 300V when I first started using it on the bike.

this is what i found after doing a little google but still unable to understand what it actually does

.
Did the service chap put in the diagnostic tool?

The diagnostic tool on its own cannot say if the throttle body is damaged. How many kms have you done on your bike ?

For me personally, no point in converting to Carb or in selling Fi and buying Carb.

The three Bajaj SVC centers mentioned in my previous post will do the Carb conversion if you want.

they only have one resolution which is SIR CONVERT IT TO CARB YOU WILL HAVE NO ISSUES nobody knows the root cause of this issue. please guide me what needs to be done.

Hey Praful I finally got my bike from the BASS Kasturaba Road and seriously it was nothing but Pain in wrong place,
Too start off Mr.Janardhan the Mechanic who serviced my bike and I told him to change the Chain sprocket and Cone set,
I have no clue why the clutch cable(121.00) was replaced, when questioned said sir it was going bad,
There is a Capacitor for KS (47Rs)
Coupling Rubber(P)(171.01rs)
GASKET (Drain PLUG)(1.75rs)
KIT CHAIN SPROCKET(1289rs)
CONE KIT (354.00)
LEVER BOOT(12.50rs)
SPEED SENSOR(225.00rs)
Labor -800rs

Self was working when when to pick up they said sir battery also should be replaced as its not starting i told him till date had no issues with it at all but now all of sudden then took to local shop and got it replaced with Amaron costing 1550INR

So Pathetic service they provided I would be raising a complaint against them by sending an email to Bajaj Head quarters hopefully they improve there service.
Praful please can you contact the closed service station or the place you get it serviced check with them what this Error indicates.

P.S. He got a KTM tech and showed him the Diag error now he recommends to change the entire electrical of the bike please help and suggest me a good mechanic i spent 4.500Rs and not satisfied with the service that was provided to me with Bajaj.

Is it not possible to switch to a better fuel injection system like duke's to get rid of all this problems ? New Fi systems adjust themselve automatically and does not need any tool to tune the AFR. I have the 220 Fi too and in these 4 years I solved every problem myself on this motorcycle as there is no Fi mechanic in the town.

I don't know what Taco shot is .. sounds like Taco Bell

I have never heard of this error ever!!

How many kms has your bike clocked? Its recommended to change the clutch cable every once in a while, I usually replace mine at 20-25K.

You (and I) own a out of production bike, I don't think you'd get the same kind you service you got 4 years back. Accept this and move on, find a local mech close to where you live who knows bikes inside out and keep the bike in proper shape. For tuning you need to still go to PBK though.

No idea. Why don't you take an appointment with AutoService Banashankari, google for their number. And don't go on a weekend.

Take out the oil into a clean container, solve the leak, put the right quantity back.

How much extra oil have you put ? if its 100-150 ml, then no problem.

Put a picture of the leak.
