Karizma/Karizma R Ownership Experience

    The CBZ Xtreme crash guard will fit..

      Any change in handling,is it better than the old one?

        Today morning when I went for a ridE on my bike, it went to reverse from main and it won't start.I changed the fuel cock to reserve position and tried starting the bike but it won't start.After sometimes petrol started leaking from the outlet like thing which is directly below air fuel mix screw on the carb.I immediately locked the fuel cock and waited for few minutes before trying again.After 10 minutes when I tried again, leaking stopped and bike started.

        What caused this problem and can a bike catch fire if one tries to start the bike when petrol is dropped on the engine.

          The Float in your Carburetor got stuck,and excess petrol had gone in to the engine. This makes the AFR very rich and so the bike didn't start.You should get your Carb cleaned if the problem repeats. Otherwise ignore it.Hope you don't park bike with more than 15 days, with old petrol..because old petrol beyond 30 days deteriorates and becomes sticky like gum.

          • Guys, I saw the first 2011 Karizma R delivered in my locality when I went for my Friends Karizma's service..... The booking of the new Karizma R is a wooping 8 months here., But Karizma ZMR is in stock (every colour).
            Ride, ride and ride.. But always do it responsibly..

              8 months are you serious..?? the changes were not even an evolution to the previous gen to command that.

                yes you can go for crash guard, it wont do any bad, crash guard of stunner and cbz are compatible.

                  • Fitting a Round Head lamp With the meter console

                    Hey guys,
                    my Zma is at the workshop, in the process of being revived...
                    Yes, its a 2004 model Zma.

                    work that need to be done are:

                    Cosmetic:
                    Repainting the Tank
                    Changing the Fiber parts
                    Stickering

                    Main:
                    Changing clutch plates
                    replacing timing kit
                    grinding the valves
                    head cleaning
                    re-wiring
                    new battery

                    Now, i do not want to spend big bucks on purchasing the front fairing,
                    i know its gonna break loose after an year or so.

                    i dont mind a naked bike, i like em..

                    i want to switch to a round headlamp, or may be 2 round headlamps(smaller size).
                    i like the RE thunderbird console
                    is there any way i can fit it in,
                    or have some1 here already done some kinda work in this dept.


                    Lemmi know how are the connections gonna be...

                    I have a HID kit, which i would be installing later. after purchasing a 9Ah battery.


                    i need some practical suggestions quick..

                      As for the 9 A battery u can go for the Bullet one's Exide preferred
                      The 2 round headlights is a great concept, something like wat triumph bikes come with. . Its easy to do, just procure good quality headlamps, the console will have alot of wiring changes and i think the entire process will be very cumbersome. . .

                        currently the best battery available

                        • Engine work is almost done..


                          Had a hard time locating a dealer who has the Zma wiring in stock.. Finally found 1 in indore.

                          Started hunting for a round head lamp..
                          Found a BIG 1 by "FIEM" for 900 bucks, did not purchase it though.. could not find a pair, also , i found a local made Honda VTX head lamp, which looked pretty decent... the store keeper insisted me on purchasing that 1..

                          anyways, m confused.
                          if i go for the round head lamp, it would almost spoil the look..

                          if i keep the stock head lamp it would have reliability issues.. it might not take heavy jerks..

                            My bike's meter console and fairing was stolen a few months ago..Insurance would not reimburse me anything. So, I thought, screw it! let's go for a fighter look. I purchased the CD dawn headlight stays, the headlight and Splendor indicators. The only problem I faced was when I had to open the steering stem nut.
                            What do I intend to do? Stuff ZMR drivetrain into an Ambition chassis and watch others run scared!

                            • I would've got my bike totally done today, but 1 out of the 4 engine Stud broke off and sprang out by itself... just as the engine was gonna be mounted again..

                              I removed the cover of the meter console.. it looks rugged..
                              Keeping the Stock Headlight

                              Clutch plates are changed...
                              Wiring is done..

                              The only problem that remains is the HID ballast unit...

                              im not sure as to where to put it in... coz, it used to be completely hidden previously with the fairing..
                              Any ideas??
