Hello mate. Well for starters, you can get the cone set checked, but firstly, how is the tyre tread at front and rear? If the tyre is worn out, then that can be the cause. If the tyre is fine, then check the alignment. If that too doesn't eliminate the problem then it might be because of the coneset.Originally posted by sand_sat View PostRegards,

Thanks Akash for your valuable feedback...
My Pulsar front tyre is MRF Zapper FS and the Rear One is MRF Meteor.
And if we talk about the cone set, it was changed earlier some months back.
So do i need to change it again ?

I assume that you are done with first servicing. My advise is to keep it below 65-70 till 2000kms. Post that change oil, let it settle down properly and then try to push it by gradually increasing 80-85 then 90-95 and so on. Let the engine settle down first. Understand the bike, how it responds to acceleration, braking, handling, stability at high speeds. I know this sounds boring, but trust me, that's the best way to graduate on any bike, be it 98cc Platina or 1400cc Ninja ZX-14R.Originally posted by raj18 View PostHello guys!!
My new pulsar completed 1200 kms on oddo. and i wanna check the top speed of ma bike, so is it safe to do it as the manual says not to cross 60 kmph for the first 2k kms.
Personal experience says, Pulsar's chassis is flexible one and cornering isn't it best weapon. Come straight line stability, it's perhaps the best. Learn the bike's characteristic mate, it will be a fantastic experience later on.

Thanks akash and yea i completed my first service at 650 km but no change in performance and of course the engine is very smooth, pick-up decreased a bit, mileage increased a bit around 55kmpl. Recently i cloaked a speed of 80kmph with damn huge sound but i enjoyed the ride and the only problem i am facing is that the gears are jumping i mean when i shift the gear from 4 to 5 it suddenly comes back to4 so strange and sometimes it stops responding it behaves like that it is in the neutral position, i dont know y and what could be the reason for this. so guys plz help me in this regard.Originally posted by Akash.Yadav View PostI assume that you are done with first servicing. Hi Everybody,
I own Pulsar 150 Dtsi 2006 model, clocked 49315 KMS.But currently i am facing a problem of rear tyre wobbling. When i ride bike with a pillon, i feels that my rear tyre wobbles.
So do i need to do wheel alignment for that and also let me know where can it be done ?
My rear Tyre is MRF Meteor and front is MRF Zapper FS...

Get your clutch setting done. It should reduce this gear slipping issue. Pulsars do get a bit noisy as they age mate, can't do anything about it. But that's their characteristic feature. Also, pull the clutch completely before you shift the gear. Half clutch method seems easy but it causes gear slippage or problems related to gear not shifting properly. Pulsar clutch is heavy as is the gear shifting mechanism. After 1.5 years and 8750 kms of small experience, I can say that my clutch disengage-engage and gear shifts have become fast for my riding style.Originally posted by raj18 View PostThanks akash and yea i completed my first service at 650 km but no change in performance and of course the engine is very smooth, pick-up decreased a bit, mileage increased a bit around 55kmpl. Yea bro you are correct i visited ASC they made an adjustment with clutch, now it got better but not vanished and ha i am habituated to half clutch with my old passion, but i never came across like this problems.
And one more thing bro whats the drain period of the bajaj engine oil, manual says for every 5k is it right??

I personally don't like Bajaj oil. It sucks big time. They advertise it as 10000 kms drain interval, but looses its quality by 1000 kms. I would say, if you are sticking to Bajaj oil then drain it in 2000-2500 kms. I am using BP MAK 4T NXT and find it to be a good one. However, its not what I would advise. Trying to source in Petronas Semi-Syn, 15W50 or will go for Motul 5100 Semi-Syn or Motul mineral because my running is a bit low.Originally posted by raj18 View PostThanks again akash!!

Hero/Honda bikes have very very light clutch as compared to Bajaj bikes. I too faced issues with gear shifts with my friend's ultra light Honda Stunner clutch. I managed to jump the bike a few times with my use.
If you are willing/planning to use other oils like Shell/Motul/Petronas then don't tell the SVC about it. Get one can of Bajaj oil or just tell them that you will change it yourself. I have never put it Bajaj DTSi oil after my 2nd servicing at 1920kms on odo. Current reading is 8783kms.Regards,

Well so can i use semi-synthetic during my 2nd service and i personally like shell oils and what could be the suitable grade for our bikes from shell?? and generally i dont use my bike heavily, only 1260km in 2months. I am bit afraid that my gears are so sensitive u dnt even know that you shifted but this happens only from 3-5 and slippage occurs in this shifts, so is there any fault in gear box.Originally posted by Akash.Yadav View PostI personally don't like Bajaj oil. You can use semi-syn but I will say, hold on till 5K kms on odo. Or if highly impatient like meOriginally posted by raj18 View PostWell so can i use semi-synthetic during my 2nd service and i personally like shell oils and what could be the suitable grade for our bikes from shell?? and generally i dont use my bike heavily, only 1260km in 2months. , then wait till 3K-3.5K on odo. Use Bajaj DTSi oil or still better is to get Motul Mineral 20W50 and use it till 3-3.5K on odo.
I see that you too are from Hyd mate. Which place? Perhaps we can meet and then can look into your gearshift problems. Well, technically the gearbox of Bajaj is not sensitive, it behaves like a naughty kid, reluctant to the requests of the rider. Its a fairly new bike, give some time to the gearbox to settle. Use full clutch, apply good amount of pressure to shift the gears, you should be good with this practice. Try Shell if you can get xW50 rated oil. Beware, Shell has car oil in this rating so don't get confused. Its the AX series which is bike oil I guess.
Try Motul Mineral and change it in 1.8 to 2.5K kms.Regards,

Bajaj is using some additive in engine oil as a separate inclusion. Check your bill for additive amount. That additive runs the engine smooth but reduces friction, hence clutch slippage. The Bajaj oil also has some friction reducers. I would recommend using some other 4T oil without that additive. Well, me too thinking same that need to stick for bajaj oil for atleast 5k on odo, and yea i stay at uppal and bro where u stay in hyderabad.
The only problem is gear shifts, but the whole performance of the bike is superb, no vibes nothing and specially suspension is too good and some metallic parts are of low quality, but overall its good machine.

In the bill they mentioned only engine oil and they charged me 350 bucks. I think they only changed engine oil and did nothing else.Originally posted by muztariq View PostBajaj is using some additive in engine oil as a separate inclusion. Hey fellow riders.
I just swapped CBZ xtreme for pulsar 150 and i quite like the bike, its perfect for me.
But the thing that i find lacking is the tubeless tyre, so i wanted to know.. if making the tyre tubeless now is a better option? and is it as good as first hand tubeless tyres?
Please suggest.
Ride safe.
