    Please suggest.
    Ride safe.
Q1 : why ditch CBZ and get P150? It isn't a proper jump. P150 comes with tube type setup even now.
Q2 : Did you get it in second hand?
Q3 : How many kms on odo?
Q4 : how well does the current tyres cope? Do they still have proper depth of treads?

Its fine. I just wanted to make it tubeless.

And yeah brother. Since it comes with a two piece handle.. Is there any possibility that i can alter the handle set up i want to make it a little longer.. like the Yamaha FZ one.. u know get the bullet feel and planning to add a steel on the silencer as well..

The tyres can be made tubeless, but I will explore the boundaries of the factory tyres as of now. A lot of people have suggested me that the current tyres can be made tubeless with just the change of valve. I have something in mind to make some adjustments to convert the current tyres into tubeless, will update everyone out here soon.
For the handlebars, you can try to fit in early generation P150/P180 handlebars which are a single piece rather than the split ones. However the stance won't change that much. You can't get Bullet like sitting posture. I liked P220's sitting posture more than P150's but I like th enimble characteristics of our P150.

Steel on silencer? I didn't get that mate.

            1. Rear Break are Not Working( checked the break liner but it is all Right) - Please get the connecting rods checked. There is this small screw near the end of the swingarm to the right side, below the silencer. This screw is used to tighten/loosen the rear brake. You mentioned that the rear tyre was jsut replaced, there is a possibility that the mechanic didn't put the wheel back correctly.

            2. Disc Break Are Not Working(sound Kho--khu..cchii So Temporary disjoined the breaks) - There might be a problem with the calipers or brake fluid. Go to the SVC or a trusted mechanic. Ask them to clean the calipers, brake pads and check for the free movement of the calipers(it might need a bit of lubrication and alignment). Ask them to bleed the brake oil and put in fresh.

            3. exhaust smell Badly - What kind of smell to be exact? Is it burning type of smell? Check the exhaust for rust/damage. Also, if you happen to find smoke in the exhaust, there is a chance that oil might be leaking from the head into the exhaust pipe. Get the gasket checked and changed if needed.

            4. Headlight is Very poor but Bulb in Good Condition - Check the reflectors and the glass housing of the headlight. They might have turned a bit yellowish or might have become translucent, hence low throw of light. If needed get it replaced.

            5. my Bike Is 50000+ on Odo. So what think to I do in Services - Ok, this milestone is still far for me, so can't comment on it. However, you can post this query in P220 thread. The folks out there are really helpful.

            6. front Tyre Suggest - There are a lot of choices available. The thing is, if you want stock size options then MRF/Ceat/TVS Srichakra/Michelin are the ones. My preference would be Michelin->MRF->Ceat and lastly TVS. You can go for 80/100 X 17 at front with tubeless type since you have the alloy wheels. MRF and TVS provides tubeless in this spec.

            7. Bikes Work Fine but if any coil or some Electrical part to replace so plz suggest - Again, not sure about this mate. However, I believe, IF IT AIN'T BROKEN, DON'T BOTHER!!

Hello mate. Seems like you are fairly new to XBHP, so welcome.
I have tried to give the best possible answers(in bold) that I had for your queries. Seniors/Experienced folks out here should be able to help you out for a couple of the questions like Electricals and Services post 50K kms on odo.

                  Didn't understand it mate. :S
I am a firm believer of keeping the bike in stock conditions, always.
As for the rear brakes, try changing the brake liners or check if the alloys are fine, the area which is in contact with the brake liners. Reason being, with excess use, the brake liners might brush up the wheel from inside so much so that it becomes difficult to brake using the rear ones as even with full application, the liners won't touch the inside of the brake assembly of the alloy.

For the other questions, I am not quite sure as to what exactly you want to do..

                  • Guys, has anyone got any experience with Tappet Adjustment? I am hearing a "tik-tik" sound even at idling. I am quite convinced that it is tappet sound, but need to get it checked with SVC folks.
How tough is this job and how long will it take? I believe an insturment called - 'Feeler Gauge' is required for this.

I am at 9962 KMS on odo and yup, its quite early for the tappets to go out of alignment.
Current Oil - Petronas Syntium 15W50 (INR 430/L)
                    Changed air-filter(stock replacement only).

Well the tappet sound is common to P150 . 10K is quite early to say but depends on engine to engine . Tappet sound is audible in cold conditions mostly and can be adjusted at mechanic place for good . If Head is opened also check for any play in rocker bearings controlling the tappets. to much tight tappets may lead to valve faliure, so do it rightly .

Thanks mate. The sound, I don't know how, has stayed pretty low and unless I put my ears close to the engine, I can't hear it. Its not that loud per say, but PARANOID feeling takes over.

                        • Hello,

I have a 2006 model of Pulsar 150 dtsi UG II
It has clocked 55,000 kms so far.

                          1. I haven't changed my front tyre yet & its lost most of its tread. I would like to replace the bike's both front & rear tyres. Do I go with the stock ones (MRF tyres with tubes) or tubeless or upgrade the tyres?

                          2. I have another problem as well, I don't know if the rear shocks are not functioning as they should, but every time i hit a speed breaker, the stand scrapes of the tarmac. I have to be dead slow to avoid that situation when am riding single. if there's a pillion rider, no matter how slow i take over the bump, the stand scrapes off. Is it the rear shock absorbers or can it be the stand deformation or something?

                          3. I'm not satisfied with the braking as well, it has got the stock ones. Can anybody suggest me an upgrade? Especially for the rear brakes, which I feel are worse even with the new brake shoes, liners & stuff.

                          Thanks!

                          • 90000 km ownership experience!

hello allthis is my very first post on xbhp, but i m a regular follower of xbhp.model -bajaj pulsar 150 ug2 purchased january 2005.when this updraded version was launched there was literally no competition against it.and my experience with ma bike is just awesome.i never had any accident with it in these 90000 kilometers so I'm emotionally attached with it. Have done some trips on it. Have done some racing with friends and it never let me down. I have maintained it pretty well, I always service it @3000 kilometers. Parts changed till date chain sprocket set- 3 times. Rear tyre- two timesfront tyre- onceexhaustheadlight bulball indicators to flexible onesfront footrest kick starter battery- 2 timeFront brake pads 3 timesrear brake pads 5 times clutch and accelerator cablesand other small things which I don't remember. I ride it daily for about 70 -90 kms at an average speed of 50 kmph and it returns me mileage of 60 -65 kms. And it is 90% highway ride. Max speed i done on it is 120 kmph. People say that bajaj are not reliable but I don't think so. My bike's engine is original. I have once changed the valves and timing chain but piston and rings are original. This maybe because I service it on regular intervals of 3000 kms.thanks for reading .peace

Buddy...there are few things which are closing to replacement like you mentioned
1st would be the rear shocks , if you are OK with replacement then replace them with new ones or you can also go to Shock Absorber mechanics those who do it for cars , they will again rebound the springs for the bike and you will have the function back . And it will save few bucks of yours also.

2nd - you can go for MRF Zapper Q or if you have 18'' rims inch then go for Michelin SIRAC Street both front and rear the config may be like below
                              Front
                              2.75-18 42P SIRAC STREET IND
                              Rear
                              100/90-18 M/C 56P SIRAC STREET
                              2.75-18 48P SIRAC STREET IND
                              3.00 - 18 52P REINF SIRAC STREET

3rd , ABout the braking , I think the brake liner is gone by this time ans every time you change the brake shoes it will only eat that . Change the HUB of rear wheel if it is spokes rims , Once you change the HUB , also change the brake shoes accordingly . If you have alloy then may be you have to go for new alloys .

                              • Hi All,
This is my first new bike and also my first ownership experience on XBHP. I have bought this bike on 24th January 2013, and have completed more than 1000 kilometers, hence hope this makes me eligible to post an ownership experience of this bike. But before I begin I would like to give special thanks to all members of this forum who knowingly or unknowingly helped me in solving my queries and to Payeng sir who had taken the pain in replying my numerous mails.
I owed a passion pro till Feb 2012 which I was using for normal day to day commuting and sold it as I was planning to shift. But things didn’t work out and I ended up with no bike for commuting. So the hunt for the new bike began over the internet, and that’s how I came across this very informative website. By this time the mighty P200ns had launched and was quite impressed with it looks and read much positive feedback from industry experts and was almost certain to go for it, was just waiting for its price and delivery schedule. When the deliveries commenced in July, I got my first shock. When I went for test drive with booking amount I found the bike was too big for me. I was barely able to put both the feet on ground. Within minutes I was assured that I can’t go for this bike. All my dreams got shattered and, I was sad for my short height (although not for the first time). All my patience in waiting and pain in research got wasted. Then after few days, I started coming to terms of my life and accepted the way nature has made me. I started my hunt again. This time also added saddle height in my list of criteria. I was thinking of buying Honda CBR 150R. But before I could even finalize the bike I got my second and the biggest shock of my life a “PAY CUT”, yes a 22% salary cut. Managing finances would have become more difficult with the rising petrol prices. I was almost certain that I cannot go for this bike given the current circumstances.
I had to again narrow down my search to 150cc. I had Pulsar 150, Honda Unicorn, and GS 150R in mind. But things were getting worse on my professional side. So I decided to opt for 100cc (but inside of my heart I knew that I wanted a pulsar). By this time Honda Dream Yuga had launched, family and friends insisted to go for this bike looking at my financial crisis and an additional responsibility which was soon coming to this worldJ. But somehow I was not convinced for this bike which hardly warrants a second look. I had almost given up hopes of getting a new bike and started to look for a second hand one. At times I even thought of purchasing my old Passion pro. I had stopped my search for a new bike on this forum, was just going through trips and travel logs of various members… liked Destination Unknown by Praveenkm very much and hope if I could make it some day. Days and months passed by and I was still without a bike. Things started to stabilize on my professional front, if not good. I got a 5% raise in mid term review. I was getting confident that at least I could buy I commuter 150cc (was just waiting for the D-day). I had started taking test drive of various bikes to confirm with saddle height. I was confused between Honda Unicorn and Pulsar 150 was biased towards P150 but mileage and reliability issues were concerning me. Then from able guidance from Payeng Sir I was finally able to decide on which one to go. A special Thanks to Payeng Sir once again. Finally on 19th of January I booked my 1st new bike i.e. Pulsar 150 and got the delivery on 24th of January.
This is my short story of my new bike. Will continue with the performance and review of this bike soon…..
