Well I had bought a rear view mirrors of Pulsar 135 only for 2 days when some had stolen them from my bike as u all know it is very easy to take them out well I was wanting to put a rear view mirrors set on the cowl so I am here for a help.
    Thanx in advance
yup it has been done before , ive seen it in a few cases , but the mirrors are aftermarket pieces , the look cool bot their efficiency is debateable , and i do not have any pics of them with me now

here it is available.cost is 750 rs..but i dont know about the performance.
like to know more about it as its cost 750 rs.its too much but i like that.because its recommended grade for 180. anyone here to say about it.
hurry... as i am going to buy it today evening itself.
5100 is best for 180, Full synthetic are not meant for us.
      1. I once tried 300v over a long trip and it was a disaster, bike was acting very weird at high revs.
      2. As with Pulsars, if into touring, with constant high speed stands, oil level tends to go down. Thus the need for frequent top up/ oil change, another reason to go for a oil which isn't that expensive but doesn't compromise on performance.

      • Guys just my thought, Isn't it better we have a saperate thread for classic pulsar and dtsi's since i think the specs are very much different between the two.

Actually i myself has a classic 180 and i'm skeptical on what it was discussed here. This seems to be a dedicated dtsi thread..

There are not much Classic owners who are into this thread\forum, that's why you see a single merged thread for all "180 versions". Meanwhile, you could request to MODS.

          • Facing a first major problem since i got the bike. When i crank the bike it produces a khar khar sound and wouldnt start but after like 6 or 7 tries it starts. After starting the engine there was a secondary sound like something was broken inside so i turned it off.It was also struggling to stay on.
Bike has done just 4900 odd Kms.Engine oil changed at 4040Kms,regular service done at 4646 kms.Had a 200 km run 2 days ago and the bike was running fine till i tried it now. Guys need help!!!

Naa, Such thread won't get much traffic. The posts will be ignored. I say, they should combine P150 thread with this one.

There might be a problem with starting coil but you should check it out at service center.

              • Chain

                Hello all,
Couple of days back the bike chain had become loose, i could hear it banging on the main stand when the bike use to hit a pot hole or even on small bumps....
I had taken the bike at the SVC to show the problem...Now here the trouble starts

He loosens the main shaft nut and takes the wheel a bit behind, you see those scales on the swingarm..yes, he takes the wheel behind. The chain is now tight.....But when the wheel rotates you hear the chain being rubbed somewhere, its either the chassis or near the front sprocket rubber protection area....I have no clue. As soon as you engage the clutch you know the engine is reduced to 1k rpm and its not that loud..during this time you can hear the chain touching some walls of the bike...

I went to three other SVC ppl, they are not able to rectify it....Yes they have tried to remove the noise completely but when you do that the chain becomes loose in no time...so to avoid it being loosed you have to take it back and when you take it back it makes those noises....

Please help in rectfying the problem.
Chain sprocket F/R are all in good condition and the chain too...

Eshan! I have been facing the same problem for quite some time. Whenever i ask the service centre guys all they tell me is to replace the chain sprocket! In my case too the chain is absolutely fine.At my place nobody is able to rectify the problem. They just loosen the chain a bit till the RUBBING EFFECT comes down.

I dont know buddy what to do....I just dont want it to break loose or you know damage another part...

Also this new difference has got some changes. Let me put it for you.
                    1) The pick up has increased a lot, trust me i can feel it to be good. I guess it has happened cz the tire is away and the transmission happens a lot quick and tight too.
                    2) The top end has gone out badly, 110 all she goes. Does not do more than that....The calculation is simple.. good pick up reduced top end cz the engine is done its job of giving the push in the initial stage itself.
                    3) The engine gets rush wen entering 8,000rpm. The Sudden rush is something which is new and quickly passes over 9,000rpm giving me very less time to engage the next gear... but suffocates itself at 8,500rpm in the 5th gear and thats where it resists to climb over 110kmph speeds.

Buddy are you facing the same problems too??

                    Any solution?

Remove the front sprocket cover, put the bike on main stand, first gear, throttle... and then check how is the chain behaving. If it is loose after tightening till the last thread (rear) then you need to change it. The chain might appear tobe good (same case with me it looks as good as new and there are 2-3 threads left now also at the rear wheel) but the problem lies in it only. I think your bike has done 20-25K which is mostly its life span under maintained conditions. I am also feeling the need to change as the rear sprocket has wore out (I can see some of the teeths are damaged, almost have flat head).

Yes eshan!! Even i have noticed considerable increase in the pick up, but i have never reached more than 90kmph because my ride is restricted to city traffic and on one of the busiest roads!! Only thing that bothers me most is horrible vibrations which u can notice on the foot pegs , gear rod and sound of chain rubbing against something.
Till date none of the SVC guys could rectify the problem.Once i had taken it to a local mechanic and he was far better than the SVC guys, though it was not completely rectified.
Am sorry i could not help you more than this as I myself have been facing the same problem.

Yeah the vibrations are pathetic, sometime into riding your legs go numb you aint feel a thing...
Roads to office are open you can do 130 quite easily. I see couple of sbk's enroute.....they do quite fast though...Its the NH-4 you see.

That's Limiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit!!! (you know that already, I need not tell you. But still you're carrying ahead with them, thats a big WHOA!!! ) They (chain and sprockets) might still appear good but change them immediately. It would be between 1000-1300 Rs for a set of chain and sprockets.
