    • My Hunk rear-suspension seems to be very hard. But its now only 20k+ on the odo(Hope it shouldn't have crossed more than 30K; I am the second owner )

Anybody here has felt the ride-quality to be hard after some KMs?
Anybody replaced shock absorbers / tried re-filling the gas in the GRS?

Most of the links in this forum regarding re-fill(for Pulsars) says "Thumbs down"

No Saurabh, I don't want to do expensive mods. Also, I'm not a mod-freak .

          • Yesterday i got MOCC horn from ebay. Link

bought it only because setting up bosch or root costs ~750

it have 18 types of horn in which the 18th one is plain and simple like normal windtone, others are musical or having long echo. can select by pressing the horn button three times
when i set it to the 18th horn, it will be kept till i start the engine, ie when ever i start the engine, the horn resets.

Connection is made directly to the 15ah fuse, the horn is powered even if the byke is in off.

i think it loses the connection when the starter motor works.

any solution for this? adding capacitors or other electronic devices?

There would be a Counter inside, that will switch to various modes in turns.

Connection is made directly to the 15ah fuse, the horn is powered even if the byke is in off.

Cant be true cause stimulating signal(original 2 wires connected to stock horn) will not be active unless key poisition is
ON and horn switch is pressed

i think it loses the connection when the starter motor works.

              • the fuse have output voltage, i checked it with s strip of led after removing the key.

the quality is qood ,its availiable here in local market for just 300~350 rs

what if i remove the controller and connect it using relay?

why not, connect it with the wire you have grounded with crash guard. and does ur horn work even if key is in OFF/LOCK position??

                    • Sorry if i said the horn woks even if the byke is off

I mean the horn is powered, its input +12v(red) and gnd(black) lines are closed, ie a +12v is running through it all time.

the blue wire is connected to horn switch (wire +ve to stock horn) ,it works only if the byke is in on.

to keep the selected mode in horn, it requires red and black line in closed circuit.

Actually my problem is when i use the start switch (or self start motor), every thing goes OFF for a while and comes back ON

does it weak the battery if the horn is powered all time?

can i connect the red and black wires to stock horn wiring?(is it have enough current to operate this horn?)

Get a multimeter and connect it in series to the fuse to check the flowing current in the horn input circuit. I dont think there wont be any current unless the bike is ON and Horn is pressed!!!

Actually my problem is when i use the start switch (or self start motor), every thing goes OFF for a while and comes back ON
Higher current is drawn at that moment so other things get less current whiloe starting ur bike, dont worry.

does it weak the battery if the horn is powered all time?
yup,it would more or less, but horn is not powered all the time NORMALLY.

The bike's electrical system is designed such a way that, electrical supply to all other devices stops when starter motor is run, as it is power hungry?
Even in cars we can see that when it is started, everything including stereo switches-off for a while.

But you have connected the + directly to the battery and the ground to crash guard, that shouldn't be the case, and it is CLOSED.
Confusing... You can better check with a good car electrician in your area?

Regarding battery draining, I think this will not create any problem as it'll just need small amount of power to keep the settings in memory. We've seen the fual gauges in HONDA Activa to be ON always, even when the key is taken from the scooter.

                          • New Hunk on the Block!

                            Hi guys, this is Akash.
A new Hunk owner on the forum! Bought the silver beast last month on the 18th.

Not yet gone for the 1st free servicing. Here are the initial ownership reviews for the Hunk.

                            1. Bought the double disk version - both the brakes' bites are good. However, the fear of wheel locking remains (maybe due to the shift from rear drum type to the disk type).
                            2. Due to shorter gearing, the initial torque and pickup is good.
                            3. However, near 4k RPM on the 5th gear, it though sometimes feels that a 6th gear could have make the bike come out on tops!
                            4. Did not go beyond 4k RPM so cannot comment about the top end
                            5. I expected a mileage around 40-45...getting that. But not really happy!
                            6. The gear shifting was not that 'smooth' that one might expect from a Honda.
The gear shifts are clunky and quite hard. Though have been waiting for a few services and then taking the bike on the highways.
                            7. All apart, I'm happy with the purchase!

Any tips/suggestions/tricks from the respected Hunk owners?
                            Thanks

Practice on empty straight road, and never try harder brakes on neutral or during slopes.chances of Wheel locking would be higher in these 2 cases.

                                2. Due to shorter gearing, the initial torque and pickup is good.

its usual as you never upshift at the optimum RPM (~6000 ).lateron when u'll be upshifting @ 6-7 K in each gear you will be @ >100 kmph in 5th gear and u wont dare to go beyond that :P.
Its like changing the gear before the point (Maximum torque @ ~6000 RPM) where its meant to be changed.
                                4. Did not go beyond 4k RPM so cannot comment about the top end
occasionally 5K is normal before 1st service and 6K after 2nd service.
                                5. I expected a mileage around 40-45...getting that. But not really happy!
so how much u expect 60 ??anything >45 ona 150 cc ride is good enough.

                                6. The gear shifting was not that 'smooth' that one might expect from a Honda.

It would take 2-3 services to be them smooth.

few points to follow during run-in period :
                                1)Oil changes at 150,300,500,750,1000,1500,2000 Km's
2)Go for early morning drive to open it up a bit, when traffic is low.
3)Never cross 6K RPM,you can occasionally ride @ 5K but that too for few seconds.
4)Vary the throttle smoothly, not abrupt as most youngstrers do.(though ur signatures made me doubtful )
5)In each gear try to vary the throttle from 2-4.5 K range ,and dont ride at a constant RPM for too long.
6)Avoid heavy pillion (unless its ur girlfrnd/parents )

all nd all enjoy ur ride and forget the worries.
