  • The problem is getting more worser that it even shows missing when i open the throttle without shifting the gears. The kalyan hero guys cleaned the carberuator , decarbonised the head and also changed the spark plug but the missing is still there. I will ask them to check the clutch plates. Is there any chance of electrical coil failure which can alo result in missing?

CDI can be faulty .once I had such a problem in my super splendor, check by taking one from your friends bike. and if needed buy only original---about Rs. 1400/-

Sound's like the slide's getting stuck, can you add 2ML 2T oil per liter to your fuel tank and report whether the issue is still there.

      • Missing of ignition/plug firing is an indication of weak spark which becomes low when throttle is opened and Plug becomes wet with petrol.Plug cap.ignition cable, spark plug and plug gap,and finally the Ignition coil itself along with CDI could be suspect or has loose contact..
Reduce spark plug electrode gap to 0.5mm and see if the engine firing is better....

@ mastiworld. after crossing 50kmph do u feel some hard sound from the engine. at the time my engine was smooth once i crossed 90kmph very easily and no vibrations . now after crossing 65kmph i feel like i am on a pulsar and crossing 110kmph. that much sound and vibration
Yes, right after the 5th gear picks in at speeds of 45-55kmph, the bike behaves really rough, there is a very rough khatarkhatar(not actually khatarkhatar but on the similar lines) sound and feels the bike has reached its peak power. After 70 Kmph, the bike becomes fairly stable again and is smooth.

I asked the SVC guys twice about it and they said there's no problem in it. I even once got a SVC mechanic as a pillion to show him and he said that the engine would have to be removed and reinstalled as it would have been irregularly assembled. I doubted his expertise so didn't think about proceeding on it.

          • Removing chain link-reg

            Hi PSR/Sibun ,

My chain adj. has reached the end (35k).How about removing a link and still use the chain for some more time? Safety perspective and life there after.pl.

If changing to new, should both the sprockets also be changed at the same time?

            Thanking you in advance MSP.

Ok, just open the chain cover and look at front and rear sprocket. If the teeths are still thick and blunt, then sprockets are ok. If the teeth are thin and have become pointed then change the kit. If the sprockets are ok then remove a link or two and use.
In my JOY, my this sprocket has run for 85k and still the sprockets look new and chain has no tight and loose section. So i will remove one or two link and use it.
Just post the photo of rear sprocket and i can guide you.
If going for replacement go for DIAMOND kit. Your bike would have come with DIAMOND kit. If going for original open the packet and check the chain. If the chain has diamond or ROLON written then good but if HERO is written walk clear of it.
There are three suppliers to OE :-
              1.HERO
              2.DIAMOND
              3.ROLON.
If diamond and ROLON then it will last for 30k or more. If HERO then it will not last for 10K. So what i do is never bother to go for OE. I directly go to DIAMOND and buy the kit.
My joy has a DIAMOND kit and the kit has already 85k on it and i feel it will cross 1 lac mark. The highest i think for any sprocket kit.

              • CBZ xtreme tyres upgrade

Hello, guys. I have a CBZ xtreme 2007 model and I want to upgrade the rear tyre (100/90 18). Could you tell me what sizes would have a direct fit to the rim?
Here's the list of the options I have on my mind:

                1) MRF Zapper Q 110/90 18.
                2) Michelin Sirac street 100/90 18
                .

And, I have the following queries regarding this list:

Which one of these two have better wet grip?
What are their present cost in Delhi?

My Splendor's original chain sprocket was replaced around 85K! Then I replaced with a complete new chain sprocket set and it lasted 25k only
But don't remember the model, either it was Hero genuine / Rolon.

                  • hi,

its 5100 on odo my 2011 cbz, done 3 free services at 500, 2012,3712

according to service manual, the 4th service should be done at 7000-7500kms or 100 days from previous service. 3~4 days are left to do the 4th service but its only 5.1k on odo.

should I wait to reach 7000 on odo to get the next service or go for it now

if you don't go for servicing with in the recommended interval your warranty will be void.do it accordingly the no of days or the km clocked whichever comes earlier

no brainer, sirac it is,michelin will be costly.
and the question remains why do i race?
every finishing line is the begining of a new race.

                          • Now, I've crossed more than 1500 kms. Present fuel efficiency is 45-50 kmpl with speeds from 50-90 kmph.

The highest i got after 1st service is 61.3 kmpl on 90% highway and 45-55 kmph.

                            • Vibrations after 50 KMPH

                              Hi fellow bikers,

Even I feel that the refinement is an issue with CBZ Xtreme(mine is a latest Oct 2011 version). I consulted my mechanic which he told that it is an issue with CBZ Xtreme. When I complained about the same to SVC guys each time during the free services, they would tighten the engine mounting bolts which did no good and the issue is still existing. They admitted that it is the characteristic of this bike and no other HH bikes have this vibration problem.

The harshness of CBZ Xtreme is such that the we feel like the engine is crying out of breath once we cross 60 KMPH in the top gear. The bike feels good below 50 KMPH - 55 KMPH but becomes harsh when crosses 60 KMPH. I really doubt how the same engine (slightly de-tuned) when put in Unicorn behave more refined and in a flawless manner. I would rate pulsars to be better than CBZ Xtreme in this aspect.

Now I have crossed 12K KMS, I stopped complaining SVC guys about the engine harshness and I am trying to get myselves used to those vibrations which I find very hard even now.

My normal cruising speed is between 60 - 75 KMPH, which is Xtreme's peak vibrating range and is irritating me each time I ride this bike. I used to love the breezy ride in my previous bike R15 in 6th gear in that speed range which I had for 3.5 years and crossed 50K Kms on the odo. I had never felt any such vibrations in R15. But lately R15 started giving electrical problems which could not be resolved by Yamaha SVC's even after shelling around 15K........this made me to sell off that bike (in an angry mood against Yamaha ) and I decided to not to buy Yamaha again (which I am regretting now that I should have waited a lil more to solve that problem )and came to HH-CBZ which I thought would be a good option with less maintenance. But I agree that the maintenance is a lot cheaper when compared to my previous bike which is the only reason I am consoling my selves.

After shelling 74 K for this bike, it is a bad idea to sell this bike now and I have decided to get used to the engine harshness till at least for two years after which I would look for a better option.

And to all guys who are planning to buy this bike, try to take the test ride which I was refused by the SVC when I bought last year (HH Nagappa Auto , Chennai). I think they are giving test rides for all the bikes now and if they don't give, tell them that u won't buy. After all its our hard earned money and don't get fooled by the brand name. Test ride at all the speed ranges and check whether it suits your riding style and if it suits you can very well buy. The mileage is between 38 - 45 KMPL depending upon your riding style.

Hope it throws some light on the negative side of this bike. For those whom the vibrations do not matter much I think this is a good VFM bike.

                              • Hi All. Had a worst experience with my Xtreme. My bike stopped in between. Had to drag it 5 kms to reach home. Night time had no mechanics around and heavy rains. Couldnt park on the highway. Reason was the water had penetrated in the tank. And start plug was gone. Friends please put a tank cover. And keep a spare start plug with you. Its been around 8 months and I have just run 1800kms. Didnt expect this from a HH bike.
