has anyone changed to 7AH battery in xtreme-11 ??

Just got the bike after they installed the new bore kit .

The bike feels AMAZING even with the crappy hero oil - the engine has become so quiet like the old Xtreme .The pull has increased when i open the throttle - feels very hard to stay under 50KM/HR .

The mech asked my permission before he changed anything which was nice - he changed the accelerator cable + clutch cable.Also replaced some kinda rubber bush in the front forks - he cleaned the oil stainer and the CF filter .

Told him to change the clutch plate but he refused saying it was in good condition - investigated the hard gear shifts and said it will take Rs 40 to fix it but the spares were not available told me to come after one week .

Even though the GM said i cant watch the mech change my bore - i quietly slipped into the service area and watched everything -for some reason they were jumpy about my camera and didnt allow me to take any snaps so only took snaps of couple of bike that claimed 3 lives in total outside the service area .

The total bill came to Rs 4700 not R6000 that they intially claimed .

@sibun the head mech told me later that though the kit was SAL the rings were from USHA only - dont know how that is possible .

My eyes are burning as i have fever - saw a splendor that has done 2,10,000+ kms with 2 overhauls costing 12K each . cant write anymore as i am tired and my eyes feel like its being cooked

I will change it but you have to wait for a month to know the results. It is not difficult, just go to service center and ask old model extreme battery cage and fit it. You need to open three bolts to open the battery cage from frame. Install the old model extreme battery cage and use 7 AH battery without any problem.

can that cage be installed without any mod?

All here with new model extreme and hunk, those 4 AH battery are complete waste and they will not last for more than 1.5 years. As soon as warranty gets over they will start showing defects. This i have confirmed from my retailer friend who also deals with battery. So the only solution is to change to old model battery cage and fit 7 AH battery.
But i will fabricate a battery cage and fit 9 AH battery.

I am happy that the con rod big end bearing ,and crank shaft are ok..otherwise it would have necessitated opening of the entire engine,by splitting the crankcase....6 K for the entire work seems acceptable, since ASC labor charges will be on the higher side....

Hi Sarbon the current hero honda oil is not crappy as it is made by Tide water(Veedol) same as honda oil. So this oil is as good as Honda 10W30.

The Mech returned the old bore and the valves today said to polish it and keep it as backup - the old bore he said to re bore to next oversize only not 0.5 size . I will post the old bore + valve pics later - also i saw someone chrome their valves in the splendor thread and asked the mech if i can do the same - he said not to do that he explained why but i didnt understand what he said .

If you really want to know the reason, please go through the splendour thread in detail. Sibun has given a detailed and fantastic explanation for the problems faced when polishing the valves n the head. Btw, he (xbhp id: paul1911) did not chrome the valve! He polished it! And finally gave it a metal polish finish!

in my xtreme ,the headlight focus is uneven, meaning there is more light to the left

This just sucks. I've riding around town for a bit now and I see my mileage has suddenly dropped from 48 to 38! I was unable to figure out why when I decided to do my routine Tyre Pressure check. I was shocked to see the pressure had dropped from 29 to 10 in a matter of 1 week! I again refilled to 29 and checked after 4 days(ie. Today) and it's at 21. Looks like I have air leaking out of the tyres. Rats. Any fix? I've had this issue before and it was fixed by a local tyrewala who just added a strip of insulation all through the inside of the alloys. I guess it's because of me hitting a pothole pretty hard a week or so ago. Bad news. Will get this checked ASAP and then reply back here.

UPDATE:
Could someone explain what exactly is Tappet Noise? A description of the noise would also be helpful. Also, the lock issue still remains.

CHange the pads immediately - dont go for OE pads they suck - insteal go for ANL or ASK. The drifting seems to be serious ask them politley to set it right if they dont oblige shoot a mail to hero they have a seperate form for that in their website .

About the harsh gear shift try Hnda 10W 30 for a change .

is that tappet noise ? all SC have one senior mech get hold of him and all your problems will go away .
