The bore and piston crown are ok. Since the valves are bent ask them to change valve guide. The rocker bearing indicates tappets were tightened too much. I think u got a good svc who knows what the problem is and ready to honour warranty.
Yeas i hope they will not make any F***** stuff this time. Hoping for the best (Fingers crossed).

Don't worry bro keep calm. Me too faced such situation with in one week of purchase of ma xtreme. Oil was leaking through head on the day i bought it. Asc opend head and all stuff in the next week and replaced gasket. After one month the problem repeated[emoji21] once again opened head ( two open heart surgery in 1 month[emoji13]) At that time my family and friends blamed me for bad selection of bike (one of my friend took unicorn that time) he praised unicorn and keep on slamming on my xtreme by words[emoji35] but i was sure that i made the correct decission. These are very simple issues and also you are getting warrenty so be happy and ride.

I understand the storm you are facing , but atleast you got problem corrected .

Listen to your heart , problems will come but it doesnt mean one will sell bike and get new . I see you got entire parts replaced under warranty ,once they refused to change one nut of my xtreme under warranty , so consider it a luck to get job done under warranty .

Opening a engine doesnt mean its gone or kaput. sibun, shoeb & paul have done complete overhaul of engine screw by screw , and it stills runs same , actually better.

So just keep checking tappet clearance & get a feeler , i cant stress how important it is for xtreme . Seeing your story i am worried that i ran for tight tappets for a while , [MENTION=28527]sibun[/MENTION] are mine valves bent too due to tight tappets , i get no noise like that . ?

I have adjusted them and they are .06 & .1 and they were same even after 2k kms and performance was improved .
Carb Tuning made easy (Thanks Sibun !)

            Hi sibun,
As u know i did a 315 kms almost non stop, average speed 70-80 kmph. bike sound change completely after 50 kms, lots of tappet sound and other sound( i dont know what that sound)
At cold no sound of tappet, nothing fully silent engine sound.
Now, what should i have to do...
Leave it as it is or check and adjust tappets.
I have no idea how even tank is removed now i request you to shed some light in layman terms that how to adjust tappet, and ya a thread is available about adjusting tappet but i dont know even how to remove tank and whats tools is needed.
I am expecting help from your side. thanks

Its really pain to see our bike in that condition, but dont worry bro you are really lucky that service centre guys accepted and ready to replace parts.
An old incident, I have owned a discover 125 dtsi in past, service guys and local road side mechanic messed my bike tappet and carb setting, its pickup was very poor and vibrates badly after 60 kmph and i was noob about that thing. i shown to several mechanic and each mechanic did some experiment on bike and the performance was not upto the mark. finally i have concluded that my bike was above repairable and finally i sell it after 25000 kms. Now i realized that it need just a proper adjustment and nothing else.
So, dont sell your bike and learn how to adjust tappet.

I would ask you to check tappets. For checking tappets no need of removing tank.

Tools needed are 10 no. flat ring spanner, tappet adjusting tool, feeler gauge, spark plug wrench provided in tool kit.

                Now the procedure is simple:-

                1. Ensure engine is cold. Open the spark plug.

                2. Shift the bike to fifth gear.

                3. Now from under the tank open the Sai steel pipe. Remove both the bolts alternatively till they are loose. Then open the pipe. Take care there is an o-ring where the pipe meets the head cover. Now bend the pipe and stick it near starter motor. It will stick there in between the gap of starter motor and casing.

                4. Now open the head cover by alternatively opening both bolt till both are loose. Then open both bolt.

                5. Now open the head cover. Chances are there that they will be tight. Lightly tap from all side using a wooden handle of hammer. It will come ou.

                6. Now rotate the wheel till the both marking on timing sprocket is parallel to head and the dot mark points to exhaust side. The piston is at top. Move the rockers with fingers. They will be free.

                7. Now before adjusting tappets cover the hole through which timing chain goes down with a clean cloth. Chances are something will fall inside and will have to open magnet and all.

                8. Now ask some one to hold feeler gauge as space is tight. Loosen the lock nut using 10 no ring spanner and loosen the tappet nut using tappet adjusting tool. Insert the feeler gauge 0.10 mm at exhaust and 0.06 inlet side.

                9. The strip should be inserted in between valve stem and the tappet nut. Tell the other person to hold the strip as mentioned above corresponding to said valves. Now tighten the tappets so much as the feeler gauge if pulled feels drag in it but moves. If feeler gauge feels free then tappet is loose and if it doesn't move on pulling then its tight.

                10. Now inset the tappet tool through 10 no ring wrench and hold the tappet tool steady while tightening the lock mut.

                11. Do the same for other tappets as per measurement. Now fit everything in reverse.

Now some will wonder why flat ring spanner. Its because without flat ring you will require to remove tank.

And this is flat ring spanner:-

Hey sibun, I got my bike yesterday. She was running good & smoother than before. This time also mechanic adjusted tappets using hand without gauge. I insisted him for using gauge but he said "Ye setting karte karte life nikal gayi he. ankh band kar ke be setting kar sakte he" I was speechless. Left ASC after test ride which seem to be good. Price paid-0 Rs. All covered under warranty.
But soon before reaching home within 5 kms, tappet noise started. It sometime comes, sometime not. Also at high speed it seems like it is normal. I guess he kept tappets loose. Also there is play of less than 1 mm in rocker arm assembly. It was moving in horizontal manner with play of less than 1 mm, which was not there in case of factory fitted assembly. Is it normal? I will be heading to main dealer (AHER AUTO) to get my insurance renewed & kick there ass for this stuff happened with me. Will be getting bike checked thoroughly from experienced mech, as they promised me yesterday on call after i discussed this stuff with one of the manager.

I am bit confused!! From where I should get my bike repaired??

Local Mechanic (1) - The one who is near my home, I just visited him twice due to time shortage. Does't seem very proficient.

Local Mechanic (2) - The one who is my regular mechanic, very proficient, knows what he is doing. One of the best mechanic I have seen in Bangalore.

Actually I am having issues with front forks, the main tubes have been changed along with the oil seals but oil is still leaking.

Local mechanic (1) who changed the oil seals and main tubes says that I should get the main tubes as well as the lower assembly changed, as oil is still leaking. The main tubes which he changed 3 months back are now rusted and he is not willing to replace them.

Whereas ASC mechanic is saying the changing the main tubes and oil seals would do. There is no need to change the lower assembly with the main tubes.

Now I am in dilemma whether I should get it repaired from ASC or the local mechanic (2), I usually visit. My Local mechanic (2) is very trustworthy and proficient.

I personally feel that I should get it repaired from ASC because

                    1. It is very near to my place as compared to local mechanic. I can easily visit ASC in case there are any issues post repairing.

Local mechanic is 12Km and ASC is merely 3Km.

                    2. ASC will provide 6 months warranty on any part which is replaced. But local mechanic (2) would not do that.

                    Please help !!

You have already been cheated by a local mechanic with duplicate fork tubes which now leak and are rusted . The ASC is near your place , giving genuine parts and guaranteeing their work . And I am getting amazed that you are still thinking !!

They say that all the time and I wonder how one can measure like 0.05mm to accuracy of +/- 0.02mm, by hand-feel even with a lifetime of experience . Pure BS . ( sorry mods for the expression ) .

Clockwise make lean and anti clockwise make rich. .08 and .12 are standard setting if there is tappet noise in this setting, then set it to .06 and .10

Could you please give details of this mechanic. I am sure a lot of people will benefit.

In a motorcycling community, everyone wants the best mechanic for their motorcycle. Much like wanting the best doctor for your parents.
