    Bad news guys.

After the elation at getting rid of the engine noise after the Cam Chain Tensioner replacement, looks like it's back with a vengeance.

I get a loud ringing sound from the right side of the engine when the engine is warmed up. This noise gets worse as I ride and increases when I rev. Tappets are set at 0.06mm inlet and 0.10mm outlet.

What baffles me is that the sound had reduced after the mechanic had replaced the Cam Chain Tensioner and completely vanished after I set the tappets. But has resurfaced since last night.

Can the cam chain still have too much slack even after changing the CCT?

      Something unexpected happened yesterday.
The rear brake was having a slight issue which I or mechanics were not able to diagnose properly. If the rear brake is depressed and if the bike is rolled slightly to the rear, the brake pedal becomes free with no braking effect! When the brake pedal is depressed next time when bike is running, it gets reset with a loud noise and sometimes locking the rear wheel. I am not sure if I was able to explain it properly
And this is what happened yesterday - the rear brake was free as I mentioned above and bike was moving @ around 20kmph, I touched the pedal and the same loud noise but this time with some nuts and bolts rolling on the road. The rear brake rod, brake clamp connecting the rod to drum both got damaged and the rod that keeps the drum fixed, got detached from the base. Mechanic says that this rod was loose at the base, which was causing the issue.
      Here is the damage.

Had a tough time this time to collect spares. Finally Got the nut/bolt from local spared dealer and brake clamp that of Unicorn. Straightened the brake rod and fixed everything back today.
Washed and polished the bike. Lubed chain and Hunk is back in action.

          Guys,

          A small update.

Those who have taken their insurance policy from Hero MotoCorp can renew the same on herocorponline.com

The website seems to work as intended only on Internet Expolorer. I just renewed my insurance for my bike that was going to expire on the 19th of January, 2015.

Another small update, I recently travelled 333.8km with 500 rupees worth of fuel when fuel cost Rs. 73.75(Shell Super).

          That means a mileage of a healthy - 49.23kmpl.

I also bought it from Hero SVC but the insurance company is ICICI Lombart, does that mean I also can renew it online?

Anybody using Motul mineral 10w-30. I am using it first time. Covered 2300k and its still in good shape (good color and smell).
Used Hero Original (Mineral), Castrol (Mineral), Gulf (Semi-Syynth) earlier and all lost their effect after 2000k. This oil is holding good.
Another possibility would be it has less detergent and thats why its not cleaning the engine properly which would be bad in long run.

Can anybody share experience with Motul Mineral 10W-30?

Hey, I have been using Motul Mineral 10W30 since last 2 years and found it to be smoother than most others(Gulf, Agip) and little better than Shell. I am not sure about the detergent content but didn't notice any issue in engine. I get the tappets set at at local mechanic and when he opens, it appears clean. It used to last atleast 3k Kms usually.

P.S. I switched to Motul 7100 10W40 and really impressed. Much smoother even at cold start, long drives with pillion. Covered 3.5k Kms and still smooth. Planning for a ride to Skandagiri tomorrow post which i am planning to change the oil.

I don't know any advantages as such. I just stick to Hero Insurance because it is what the bike came with.

And Veedol, no. Will try and source it for the next service.

Went for a 150km round trip to Vedanthangal bird sanctuary, 75kms away from Chennai.
                        Followed this route - Porur -> Chennai Bypass -> NH45 -> SH-118 -> Vedanthangal road.
The roads were really good, which includes 6 lane, 4 lane in majority of the distance.
Bike was performing well, maintaining 70kmph most of the time, touching 80 and 90 kmph occasionally, with a pillion.
Felt really good while overtaking those trucks and buses with a downshift to 4th and leaving the traffic way behind
The mileage still bit less, 43 kmpl which included a 15% of city commute as well.
Regarding the destination - Birds were less this time, they say because of less rain in that area this season. But a good trip overall.
                        Couple of pics.

I heard Veedol has a go down / storage in Yeshwantpur. I might give them a call to check if they have dealers in south Bangalore. Let me know from where you source it

Has anyone tried fitting the whole set of chain sprocket set ( 15/42 or 15/43 and i hope it is a direct fit) of unicorn in HUNK/CBZ...?

if so, please share the extent of drop in acceleration.

Basically i am trying free up the engine a little and i wouldn\'t mind the slight drop in acceleration.
