Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Brother fz 16 is everything that royal Enfield is not, a very refined engine, low maintenance, and if you are willing to trade of the rear tire with a smaller one good fuel economy, and its very light in weight, i own a fz16, for last 7 years and I never regret my decision to buy this bike. So all I say, just go for it, the bike will not disappoint you.Originally posted by peacelover73 View Post

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Yes bro, I've heard feedbacks that guys are still happy with it after years of use and 50k+ kilometers. In fact, some idiots fed me false information about FZ 16 (I was not in India till 2 years ago). I was told that the tyres are wearing out quickly due to some issues with the factory settings. When I rode it once, I simply loved the seating position and the handling. Also, I really like it's naked street look. Mileage seems to be a concern as I heard.Originally posted by rahul9250133815 View PostBrother fz 16 is everything that royal Enfield is not, a very refined engine, low maintenance, and if you are willing to trade of the rear tire with a smaller one good fuel economy, and its very light in weight, i own a fz16, for last 7 years and I never regret my decision to buy this bike. Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
The newer mrf model is much better than the older one. Is less puncher prone than the older tyre.Originally posted by rahul9250133815 View PostThe rear tire is a pin in the ass, it's soft compound so will not last long, but then you can change to a smaller tyre with hard compound and it will increase the mileage and it will last a lifetime
Also, hard compond tyres do not provide adequate grip in wet situations.
I will not recommended using a thinner tyre or using any other dimension tyre. But its your choice.
Ride safe and have fun.

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
Get the newer FI version if you want to buy fz. It is much more refined and will give better mileage.Originally posted by peacelover73 View PostYes bro, I've heard feedbacks that guys are still happy with it after years of use and 50k+ kilometers. As for tyres, see my post above.

Y you going to buy the old model? V2 is better performance& fuel efficiency and more refined engine.(smoothest 150cc still[ R15 > V2 ])Originally posted by peacelover73 View PostI'm planning to buy a Yamaha FZ 16 and sell my Royal Enfield Electra 350. Um starting to dislike it because of the vibration, high maintenance, poor speeding capability). FZ 16 is an old model but I see that people are still buying it. Besides, I love its looks, seating comfort and the handling. May be not a smart decision but my mind is swaying towards FZ16

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
I have clocked around 15k kms with my clutch. Now it reaches 60 at 4.5k rpm. Someone in earlier posts suggested if reaches 60 at 4.5k rpm then it's time to change clutch plates.
And one more thing when i cahnged the clutch plate last time, i still felt that it is not working properly especially in traffic after sometime when engine become too hot it slips automatically and kills the engine making loud noise like when clutch slips. So, i want to know that it's because of engine oil i use i.e. motul 300v 15 w 50 or something mechanical.
And is it necessary to use yamalube mineral oil for first 5000 km when you change clutch?
And is there any other thing that i should have changed or it's just clutch plate.

It shows you are a clutch rider , you wore out clutch due to bad freeplay or riding clutch, My splendor's clutch HAD to be changed as they were old / for peace of mind , but even at 45k they were running like new.I have clocked around 15k kms with my clutch. Oil and clutch noise are not connected , Find the problem of clutch wear first , get them installed correctly and original parts only. And one more thing when i cahnged the clutch plate last time, i still felt that it is not working properly especially in traffic after sometime when engine become too hot it slips automatically and kills the engine making loud noise like when clutch slips. It's supposed to do that speed only. Mine does the same.Originally posted by Aakash Singh View PostToday i tried my friends fazer with new clutch plates, she also clocked 60km/hr at 4.5 k rpm. Anyone here please provide your bikes figure.
Didn't get the logic of changing clutch plates if bike reaches 4.5k rpm 60kmph.
If clutch is gone, speed won't pick up wrt to rpm. Engine hesitates to shut down in 2-3rd gear if you hold brake and release the clutch (old school way). Bite will be at end even with the best free play setting (unless a worn cable).#RetiredRider

Re: Yamaha FZ-16/ FZ-S
New MRF Revz C / M aren't that bad. They have more round profile than previous generation profile. I have been using Revz C and haven't faced any issue apart from 2 punctures in 18k kms.Originally posted by Mizt View PostGuys which is the best rear tyre available in market now.People say Mrfs are bad but the 140/60 profile isnt available in any other brand. Please help as my Dunlop tuffgrip is worn out and has multiple punctures in the same places. The real beauty lies in throttle's twist!!
