My bike is having issues with self start. Everyday when I start the bike for the first time from Home to office or office to home in the evening , it works fine. I have seen the issue to be occurring only when I have left my bike on Idle standby with engine off. After a solid minute or minute and half , when I try to start my bike , it either does with a weird noise or some times , the bike simply doesn't respond to the self start button at all.

Whenever this happens , the console light DOES NOT dim and it stays normal. Any pointers with this?

I tried reconnecting a couple of things under the seat , it didn't help much with the situation.

This particular component had one connector in brown color. Could it be it?

    Hai

The problems is in your start switch button. Just spray some WD40 into the switch by using the nozzle provided along withe WD40. Let it dry for about 5 mins. Your ride will be as good as new.

You know me I am a DIY guy and moreover DIY can be done for any service.

My DIY was mainly due to oil seal bust. Did not want to take her to the mechanic. So did the DIY on diwali. Took me 2 days to completed due the the non availability of the special tool. In one of the DIY for apache I saw that the special tool was made out of 15.5 mm or 5/8" Across flat hexagon rod. This is a common raw material that we use in our company. So Got hold of a 2 foot rod. But the problem started there. After opening the fork, I found that the 5/8" rod was small. I took several photos of the damper rod but could not fig out what the size was. So I removed the bottom allen screw which was easier since I had the allen bit with 1/2" square drive which I attached to my torque wrench. Then once the allen screw was loose. I slightly hammer the 5/8" rod into the damper which gave me some grip as the inside was tapered. After opening the assembly completely I found that I needed a 23 mm A/F hexagon instead of the 5/8" A/F hexagon. I had a 23mm nut. I welded the rod and the nut together to make the special tool.

Then the next hurdle, I completed forgot about the oil seal seating tool (Plastic pipe/cap). I could not find any hardware stores to buy the plastic pipe as it was diwali. So took a old cap and took off the middle of the cap and used it as the oil sealing tool

It is good to change the spring as the spring sets in due to number of cycles of compression and expansion. Moreover it is only Rs.90 each. So changed them.

I have posted in the DIY thread yesterday. Once it is approved you can see the full procedure.

      Cheers

I think the particular item (the relay) is the culprit. It costs around ₹80-90. After changing it should be fine.

I don't think anyone here has done this mod.
You can install an aftermarket projector into the headlight.

Hi! Friends what is normal life of swing arm's bush and bearings.
SVC never greased them even when i suggested them, so after 32k km it started making squeaking noise. After changing the bush and bearing the sound was gone but know bike feel weird to ride. In uneven road it tends to steer automatically, this happened to brother in laws fazer when he had installed contigo because of hard compound. But for me it started after bush and bearing change. In the streets it becomes very difficult you have to keep eyes on the uneven road. And i also tried it on highway around 80+ whole rear end started vibrating, like rear Tyre was slipping.
I had shown that to mechanic but he said everything is alright.

I also complained about carelessness of svc regarding maintenance time table. He started praising yamaha, saying you are lucky that you have fzs and blah blah. He said that normal bush bearing life was 12k kms. Is he right?

Don't know about the life, but these seem to have a life of about 30-35k kms.

In my bike, which completed 37k today, there is play in the swing arm and the bushs need to be replaced.

If your bikes steers to ome side, the alignment mught be off. The mechanic may not have put the rear tyre back properly.

I got the alignment checked by local mechanic as well as yamaha's mechanic they said there was no problem in alignment.

Also check the front forks! If they're bent or misaligned then you may feel the same..
