Its actually not that bad in mine but at time i feel really difficult shifting down to 1 from 2 or neutral to 1. Have to move the bike forward or reverse a bit for the gear to engage.

How much did the clutch plates cost you. And guys in forum, any of you guys facing gear shift issues and then changes the return spring, push lever and the other spring (I forgot which) and see the gear shifts smoother.Originally posted by undercoverzafar View Post

Saree Guard
Guys I'm getting my new FZ-S this week. Is it easy if I try to remove the saree guard myself with the toolkit given? The factory outlet I'm buying the bike from are saying that they won't remove it and that I can get it done during the first service.Always assume the other guy will mess up - Ride Defensively!

There is absolutely no need for engine flushing...Originally posted by s_and_m View PostI used to get some heating issues early on when the bike had done 2000 - 3000 kms.. but nothing since then, while on yamalube. I shifted to Petronas at 12000 kms and there were no issues - heating or otherwise.
And yeah, you need to flush out all of the old oil before injecting a new breed of oil.
from my experience i have used Yamalube mineral oil for 9000kms and shifted to Yamalube Semi-syn which i used until 21000kms and again shifted to Motul Semi-syn which i am currently using and my bike have clocked ~29000kms till date... its absolutely fine... the need for engine flushing requires when the engine is open for repairs, there's an item available in the market for doing it... the procedures are simple open the oil dip stick and pour that material to the engine and close the dip stick, start the bike for almost 3 minutes. remove the engine oil bolt and wait until the old oil flows out... pour new oil... finished...
Remember after engine flushing the oil to be filled must be slightly more than 1 Ltr(~1.2 Ltr).

hey brothersss
everything in my bike has been fixed/changed to whatever best possible condition....got the carborater checked at 2 separate places...clutch plates changed...clutch wire and springs changed...sprocket and chain is chining new..new handle bars...engine oil etc....but my friends..the bike's engine is stilll rough...specially in 3rd nd 4rth gear at 4500 to 6500...rest of the time too..the engine is rough....i think the pistons nd cylinder is damaged...1500kms ago the engine had become horrible..god knows if the engine oil was low ya the bike wasnt breathing properly...it certainly felt like both....after the 3rd last service..the bike smoothness increased a bit...but my bike was not the same ie refined like before...i think the period of low engine oil...800km..damaged the engine internals.....let me tell you in easier words
the exhaust makes the same sound at 4500rpm which it used to at lets say above 95kmph...went to a good service centre..they said ur engine is just 9000 kms old...its like new nd there is no probleum....ill go there again....
guys can i file for a claim[for a set of new pistons nd cylinder head]....as my bikes under warranty ..nd just 9000kms old...???????

My bad.. What u just mentioned is exactly what i meant. Didn't mean flushing as in not a single drop left... I meant that it can't be used as a top-up .. the old oil needs to be removed via the engine oil bole point - like a normal oil change.Originally posted by Binoy View PostThere is absolutely no need for engine flushing...

Even I am facing engine roughness issue (though my bike is only 1500km old), when I took it to the SVC they said everything is fine, but I am not satisfied.Originally posted by undercoverzafar View Posteverything in my bike has been fixed/changed to whatever best possible condition....got the carborater checked at 2 separate places...clutch plates changed...clutch wire and springs changed...sprocket and chain is chining new..new handle bars...engine oil etc....but my friends..the bike's engine is stilll rough...specially in 3rd nd 4rth gear at 4500 to 6500...rest of the time too..the engine is rough....i think the pistons nd cylinder is damaged...1500kms ago the engine had become horrible..god knows if the engine oil was low ya the bike wasnt breathing properly...it certainly felt like both....after the 3rd last service..the bike smoothness increased a bit...but my bike was not the same ie refined like before...i think the period of low engine oil...800km..damaged the engine internals.....let me tell you in easier words

I have taken up the issue with Yamaha. It's been going on for a month now. Yamaha customer care and SVC have a very casual attitude towards the customers.
Did you try contacting Yamaha and explain your issues. Give it a try?
Guys, anyone knows the contact details of any higher officials in Yamaha for escalation?

Amount of fuel to fill
I'm getting my new FZ-S this week. I was wondering how much fuel should I fill in the tank after taking it out of the service centre? I hear that we need to check the air pressure every two weeks. So it would make sense to fill enough fuel just for 2 weeks so that we can do so? My inital run would only be on weekends...Always assume the other guy will mess up - Ride Defensively!

new fz has about 1and1/2 L in it. you can fill as per your need after that as you wish.>> please at least start your bike everyday, even when you are riding on weekends. air pressure will not be a problem in new FZ. do your servicing on time.Originally posted by rkakkar View PostI'm getting my new FZ-S this week. the svc guy took a short ride around tight colony roads...bro they too felt the engine was a bit smoother...but they dint acccelarate hard enough to feel the roughness...my riding conditions are near perfect[indian standards]...my daily running is on delhi's finest streets....yes all services have been done on time....in 8 services my bike has cloged just 9000 kms...thats an average of...say 1200kms between services...and except the engine..all of the bike is in great condition...Originally posted by malikkhan095 View Postcan you tell me what did the SVC guys said you after taking a ride on your bike. what different things did they notice when they ride your bike?

SPOKE TO THE SVC GUY TODAY..HE SAID THAT WARRANTY CLAIM WOULD BE DONE ONLY AFTER I INSPECT THE BIKE IN DETAIL...SO IM GOING TO HIM TOMOROW MORNING...LETS SEE WHAT HAPPENES...i hope they put new parts for free..otherwise ill have to spend 4500 on a new engine kit.....
